In relation to the news today of TSW2 being released now later in August to have our preserved collection working with the scenario planner.... https://live.dovetailgames.com/live/train-sim-world/articles/article/tsw2-update

Is anyone at DTG able to inform me if these routes will then run on the new engine and have all the new features on TSW2 available to them? Or if they are just available in the scenario planner?

    Thank you!

Sam confirmed on another thread that the TSW content will not have the new features of TSW2. Just the scenario planner.

Hopefully they’ll change their minds on that too - with enough courteous pressure.

Unfortunately not. The work needed to bring preserved locos and routes up to "full TSW2" is pretty significant - more than we can commit to. There will be work done where it's necessary for the route/loco to work at all, but that's going to differ from instance to instance.

The main problem is variable adhesion.

Persuading a legacy vehicle to work with adhesion isn't difficult, it's actually pretty straightforward. What takes work however is implementing traction assistance controls on those locos. Were this not done, you'd routinely face situations where a train simply could not move due to traction loss.

Please do not assume for a second that trying to make an "issue" out of anything you'd like to see change will have impact. Preserved Collection's incompatibility with Scenario Planner was poorly received when it was announced. There was no campaign of pressure from the community, but many of you voiced your disappointment when you heard the news and this was the motivating factor for the change. When the announcement was made yesterday, there hadn't been a comment about Preserved Collection and older add-ons in a while.

The point? Voice any concerns once and it will be heard. Voice it repeatedly and it won't be heard any louder, that's not how it works. Once is enough.

Nothing unreasonable in what you’ve said here to be fair.
