I have voiced it earlier in 2018 with the release of TS2018, but never got any conclusive answer on how DTG is handling it.

Train Simulator Classic uses a menu build upon the ancient software called Flash (it even came bundled with earlier versions).
At the end of 2020 Adobe is retiring Flash Player, which means you can't download and install it anymore and as Flash Player is included with Windows 10 it will stop working in browsers and possibly any other software relying on it.

I hope that DTG is planning to 'renew' the menu, possibly porting it over to HTML5 or back to the TS2012 non-flash menu?
Possibly even let users configure their own interface with colors or style, we had the gray menu in TS2015 and from TS2016 on it uses the blue menu.
Great British Railway Journey's uses a green style instead of blue.

On the mention of GBRJ, it should also be updated as it uses the same core and flash style menu.

    Hi Rob,

    Great question.

Whilst Scaleform (the software that handles the User Interface in Train Simulator) does use Adobe Flash technology to render the UI, it doesn't use the Adobe Flash Player (AFP) itself and instead uses its own custom version which is specially optimised for games (see Wikipedia) and is included with Train Simulator. Therefore, it's highly unlikely Train Simulator will be affected when AFP comes to an end later this year.

At this moment, there are no plans to change the UI core technology or style in Train Simulator.

Hope this answers your question but please let us know if not.

    Best, Steve
