Really, it's a mystery why there still isn't a Class 26 in this game after all these years given how fairly common they were, and that they were in use until the early 90s

Common in Scotland but only rarely seen south of Carlisle on the WCML and even rarer on the ECML

Don't forget all the other locos that were popular that have also not been made
With all the BR/WR routes the North British locos that ran in steam days would seem to be a suitable choice

We don't have any early AC Electric Locos or MU's either.

There was one made by IHH, DTG obtained his library (well presumably all of it). The class 27 was re-released but never the class 26 for some reason.

Didn't some early class 26's run on the Southern or was that the class 24?

It is a shame the NBL class 22 wasn't re-released.

DTG will also have a class 82 in their library which was never re-released.

I wonder, if he had continued, whether IHH would have bought us more EMU's and DMU's. He did build the class 303 and bought the 506 out for Woodhead before DTG did. IHH also provided most of the DMU's, the 117, 107, 114 (labelled as a 118) and I think the 121 was his but never released under IHH.

IIRC Class 24s were on temporary loan to SR due to loco shortages. They soon returned up North. I gleaned this and more railway info from this site.

Fascinating looking site that. I shall have a longer peruse later on, thanks. I have just found reference to class 24's on the Southern in some old railway observers.

I think the class 26 pilot scheme locos were first used briefly out of Kings Cross.

The Quality of IHH products is not up to DTG Standards so a lot of work is required to bring them up to standard for sale
The Class 82 just reused the Class 86 Cab and Sounds - more like Freeware than Payware.
And the Class 506 was nothing like the real train

And the IHH version even had a corridor connection - something the real units did not have

Yes, DTG could release some more of the IHH Back catalogue if they have the time and money to get the things brought up to date

I hadn't spotted that with the 506 I must admit. The models they have released seem fine though. It would be good to see the 107 and 114 released as there didn't seem to be anything wrong with those. Even if they released them as they are for £5 on the marketplace.

DTG would not make anything selling them on the Marketplace but would get a lot of criticism with the models not being up to standard

Maybe, although they did put a standard 4mt on the market place for a while. If they told potential buyers they were "older models" then really no-one could moan about that. But I take your point, it is just there were some useful models which still haven't been released.
