Hi all I’ve had train sim world and train sim world 2020 on Xbox for a number of years and I’ve probably furnished £125 into dlc. I’ve been debating whether to get a series x or a pc and decided to make the jump to a full on gaming rig. I think I am likely to get tsw2 on pc to enjoy it a much higher fidelity. Will there be anyway to take my collection over? I don’t really want to hold onto the Xbox but would like to keep my preserved collection?
Nope, that's unfortunately not possible, the DLCs are only transferrable within one platform, not between them. If you wish to drive certain DLCs, you will have to buy them again.
Games and DLC generally aren't transferrable to competing platforms. If they just gave everything out for free because you changed platform, that platform makes no money. There's more sales on Steam, so you may as well wait for discounts in the meantime. Window 10 and Xbox One store versions are not crossplay, so again very unlikely.
I'll check for specifics regarding Xbox and Windows store purchases being treated as the same ownership. The basic rule is that the account must be exactly the same, so PS add-ons don't transfer to Steam, Steam won't transfer to Xbox etc
This would be great if we can. My intention is having bought all my products on Xbox I will then look to use my same game pass account on pc game pass to play.
if I’m understanding correctly..... if I was to buy ts2 through the pc Xbox store my content from Xbox (preserved) would be available as physical account the same?
I’m working on basis that if I owned two pcs both with steam I could use on either. My Xbox and pc would both link to “joe bloggs” account with same details on both (linked together) so I wonder if my ownership license tags to joe bloggs rather than Xbox or pc. I couldnt quite gauge a definitive through live streams and trying to work out whether to puchase on steam and enjoy the more frequent discounts or buy though Microsoft store and potentially be able to access all my preserved too EDIT..... 5min later.... I think I’ve just found answer in q and a. Bad times
