They're still working on the preserved collection so the filesize won't be known until release. What we do know is the DLC will take up space in addition to the TSW1 DLC

It is safe so long as they're not protected files. Other than that it just makes it slower as to access the files they have to be decompressed first

Unless you are using some kind of encryption (you probably are not if you don't know what I'm talking about) it is safe. As noted in the previous post, the problem is the performance penalty. If you compress your system drive (the one where Windows is installed) it will make everything much slower, including booting the system. Another thing to keep in mind is that files that are already compressed do not get compressed more, but still suffer the performance penalty (ie: most videos, music, etc). Unreal Engine has package compression, so DTG might have it enabled for TSW (most developers do).

You might want to consider other options:
    1. You can select in Steam what DLC you want installed for each of your games. You might want to uninstall TSW1 DLCs as soon as DTG releases them for TSW2 (so you don't have 2 copies using space).
    2. Do not compress the whole drive. You can select some folders to be compressed and leave everything else as it is.

Another alternative would be to expand the storage space. It may be better all round to buy another hard drive. More DLC will follow and the disk space needed will only increase.

Of course. I didn't suggest that because when people asks about compressing the drive its usually because they can't buy a new hard drive at the moment. If buying a new drive is an option, do it.

    1. Will it be possible to do ‘weathering’ in the livery editor?

    2. Will it be possible, by using a series of scenarios, to create a ‘there and back’ run from say Brighton to Eastbourne and return? Specifically if loco hauled, could a run round move be done at Eastbourne using the points? Appreciate this may need several separate consecutive scenarios to achieve but is it possible in theory?

You may assume it will take about the same amount of disc space, though they made for instance the Sandpatch trees more efficient. This may save some space. I think the key question is, why would you still want to keep all TSW stuff installed? Maybe you want NEC and the old Sandpatch but that is all you may need. Otherwise you also can choose not to install your TSW preserved collection at TSW2. I do not believe compressing your disc is a brilliant idea. It will increase loading time at the beginning of the game and each time you change route..I ran a little test, it will save a lot of disc space, for TVL about 75%, so that is quite good. You may create a separate partition and just try it. I am not sure how easy it will be to revert a disc compression.

Hi all, would it be possible that the actual allowed speed limit is displayed somewhere on the screen but not only in the HUD. For example the next speedlimit is displayed on the top right corner of the screen and below that the actual speedlimit could be displayed. Thanks a lot an best regards.

Closing this thread to further questions - we have considerably more than can be covered on stream, so we'll aim to get answers in textual fashion where we're not going to cover them live.

Thanks for all the submissions you've sent.
