When zooming on the Bakerloo Line using the PS4 Pro controller, it has an effect on the perceived speed of the train. The train seems to slow down, even though the speed on the HUD remains unchanged. It gives the illusion you are going slower than you are, which makes braking whilst zooming a lot more difficult to get right. I don’t know if this is a glitch or an intended consequence of zooming, but I don’t like it.
That's not weird, it's how it is naturally. A wider FOV gives the immersion of faster travel at low speeds. A narrower FOV does the opposide of it, it gives the feeling of being slower than you actually are. That's a reason why lots of games use this "trick" to gain the effect of speed when there is no speed. They simply widen the FOV for a moment/a while (e.g. when accelerating a car with nitro or such things, or when you start running with a character in maybe Assassians Creed or other open world games).
That’s what happens when you zoom in on things. Because your looking further ahead things don’t pass by as quickly thus it feels like you’re going slower.
