... is hella dangerous. I went sliding past a station like an on out of control ice skater. Adhesion physics definitely working on HRR!
Lol, I will have to try that! I loaded up a service on Sandpatch with snow just to see it before bed and I was really impressed on how much better it looks now!
After loading up a service in the 422 on HRR in a blizzard. I went to take off as I usually do and the wheel slip started immediately. Thank you for sharing this idea because THIS is exactly providing what I was really hoping for with TSW2 and that is variables while we drive! Having to now think about wheel slip when driving on a route adds a whole lot more immersion and fun to the game! Update: After attempting to stop at the first station on a 1.0% decline, which I usually have no problem at all. I started braking and slowing down and I then applied more brakes up to 100%. I proceeded to slide way past the station even with 100% brakes applied. I am so happy right now.
It definitely makes you rethink your driving technique. I discovered it when doing the HRR scenario involving snow.
Exactly and that’s what we needed! Before I could not pay attention and throw it in full throttle or I could brake late and be okay, not anymore. Heck yes!
I've just tried a service in the snow on East Coastway. I can no longer pull away in notch 4 otherwise the wheels just slip and when I left the braking a bit late for a station and put the brake into step 3 it just slid. I like the little touch of the sand button lighting up when then the wheels slip aswell. I'm very glad they added the adhesion features to the preserved routes as it makes a much more challenging drive.
Has anyone been able to tell whether sanding works on preserved collection. I couldn't tell whether it was making any difference on the class 377.
I probably just didn't test it enough to be able see it working well. I might have test it later by braking hard at the same place twice to get into a slide and see if using sand makes me stop sooner.
It's definitely working well! I've had a few PZB instances where I've been completely unable to get down to 85 km/h in the 23 seconds and ended up with the emergency brakes on.
I love driving the ICE in the rain, any brake step after 4 the wheels slide and the ICE gets really jumpy at high speeds
