This is probably a minor oversight, because Sand Patch Grade (CSX Heavy Haul) was an older route that relied on the classic control scheme. The problem is, the AC4400CW training module cannot be completed with the "Immersion" control scheme. The training has a stage where it requires the player to "Enter Engineer Main Screen View". This view cannot be selected with the Immersion controller setup, the player has to switch to Classic in order to be able to bring up the camera views menu, and select the appropriate view (and then control the screen itself). The game doesn't indicate this anywhere, so it's possible to get stuck in the training, not knowing what to do exactly. Maybe this training module should be reworked so that it doesn't require this step, or that this step can be completed without entering the designated camera view.
Also exactly the answer I was looking for!--Sat there for 1/2 an hour trying to figure out what was going on! Thanks. Hope the Devs see our posts and get a fix out soon.
So apparently you need to plug in a usb keyboard to xbox use the arrow keys to switch to the the screen you need... from other people who were having same issue.
You just press start go to settings, controls, and switch immersion to classic. It's pretty insane you have to do that... Once you're there hold right stick and go to internal views, than more, then engineer main screen
This tutorial won't allow you to use classic controls. Which means this tutorial is impossible to complete, I think?
I managed to switch to Classic controls in-game during the tutorial, but once doing a Scenario, I was locked in to Immersive, with the option to change them being greyed out.
Thank goodness for clever people, I spent an hour on this tutorial and couldn't complete it. I think I will just play TSW 2020 for the next 6 months until Dovetail Games sort it properly. I have looked forward to this release and am very dissapointed with it!
Ya I feel ya man, although I'm still enjoying the game, just considered it like another add on, once you change controls that is,
I did change to classic cobtrol but when starting the training module I got a message saying I must use immersive control and the game switches it back no matter what and then unable to change it in the module as it is greyed out
I solved the problem by plugging in a PC keyboard. Then by pressing the left direction button and I was on the IFD screen as prescribed in the tutorial. It's a temporary but not a final solution.
Sorry but it didn't function during the tutorial. Just tried it. The controller layout remains on immersion.
As long as the controls in the main menu are set to Immersive, you should be able to switch to Classic and back again. If not, then try restarting the scenario, or quitting out and loading a fresh attempt at it.
Ya exactly. Some people aren't listening, you have to switch controls in the menu before loading anything, to immersion, save changes, then load the tutorial or scenario then press start and switch controls back to classic
Ok I setup my controls to classic and walked to the tutorial on foot and it worked like a charm. Starting the session from the menu automatically switched to immersion and prevented me from switching back once the tutorial started. Set you controls to classic Select explore "on foot" Find tutorial near the turntable on the map Walk to the training icon (it looks like a cap from graduation) Start the training session manually.
The same technique worked for the coal loading tutorial too. Set you controls to classic Select explore "on foot" Select the area where the tutorial is located (Yard or Mine) Find tutorial near the (turntable for the AC4400CW or coal hopper) on the map Walk to the training icon (it looks like a cap from graduation) Start the training session manually.
Think its time to let people have what ever control they want and when they want it, instead of graying the option out in setting this immersion is no good for the game as you can not see all the inside train views and controls and the pointer option is gone too why change this part of the game to break the game......
