Hey guys. I'll be showing you how to disable bloom (in TSW 2) as well as altering the colours, lighting and extending the draw distance. This requires a fairly powerful PC as it naturally has some FPS impacts. This will vary from person to person based on your preferences. Instructions: 1.) Locate Engine.ini by going to: Documents\My Games\TrainSimWorld2\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor 2.) Open it and inside it add the following values at the bottom, in a blank space [SystemSettings] r.ViewDistanceScale=3 r.BloomQuality=0 r.Color.Mid=0.4 3.) Press CTRL S to save and done! Below I'll post a comparison for reference at the same TOD and weather settings. Default: Tweaks:
Brilliant mate! Also what would be extremely useful is to improve Anisotrophic filtering of rails in front. Your .ini tweak is brilliant mate! It is so short as You all can see and such a powerful thing. We need to support each other and show [edit by Protagonist - argumentative] what the users can achieve and claim from the game itself!
For TSW2020 you also can do this using TSWTools. TSWTools allows to create a number of game setting configurations and a game starter that allows to load such a set. I will create a TSW2 version of this program soon. Download location: https://hollandhiking.nl/trainsimulator
after trying this i foudn the game much more "sad". Maybe a level between orginal and glitch would be nice to have.
Hi londonmidland , thanks for the ini tweaks as right at the moment I'm preparing to "ini" TSW2 like I had to with TSW1. Are you aware of anything regarding better AA? I have flickering and disappearing overhead powerlines (German routes) and I had this somehow reduced if I remember. I'll try scaling it up more ... Keep the ini tweaks coming, hopefully we can compile a comprehensive guide later on.
Well I didn't know what Boom was but thanks for your message I'll give it a whirl, your second pic looks a lot better than the first
These are my settings for a high end laptop [SystemSettings] r.ViewDistanceScale=11 r.StaticMeshLODDistanceScale=0 foliage.LODDistanceScale=7 r.SkeletalMeshLODBias=-5 r.MipMapLODBias=-3 r.EyeAdaptationQuality=0 r.MaterialQualityLevel=0 r.BloomQuality=0 If you guys and gals want a guide on understanding and using these settings click here http://www.kosmokleaner.de/ownsoft/UE4CVarBrowser.html https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1378928501
Bloom in general makes colours to appear washed out so disabling it brings back color vibrancy, the only downside I found so far is that the sun does not look like sun anymore. It is a circle with clearly visible edges without the bloom. But having better looking colours in general is worth it I think.
