after buying tsw 2 for 24.99.and very happy with the content.apart from few bugs.im now finding it hard to justify paying 24.99 for hauptstrecke,so is it worth getting?
i think because ive just spent 24.99 on tsw 2 for 3 good routes.im now finding hard to pay 24.99 for 1 good route.i own most dlc for tsw2020 and enjoy all of them.i know i will give in and buy because i always do.lol
Good route. Nice amount to do, and it’s got some nice scenery. I personally prefer Wuppertal to Hagen, but that is purely due to enjoying the freight services and the gradients. I only got HRR the day before TSW2 was released. So I am now trying to get into it. It will be much much more interesting when the other DLC comes in.
This thread is quite interesting, because I haven't bought this route yet. But despite the short and positive comments here, I read a review on a German website. It was not half as positive, to be honest. If you can read German, have a look. Translating the complete review would probably be too much text, so I did a translation just for the pros and cons. Positive: Track construction Implementation of the EMUs Moderate: Implementation of signalling/boards Few details on the open road, other details unsuitable Negative: Low recognition value at many points Design of the stations: often too few details The atmosphere of a metropolitan region is missing due to the use of unsuitable buildings Some missing 'landmarks', including the skyline of Essen Bugs at the PZB Implementation of the overhead line Timetable mode has too little depth Scenarios too much oriented towards the timetable mode and too unrealistic
I definitely understand what your saying, TSW2 was just an extremely good deal so I understand why it is hard to justify but not only is it a fantastic route (The last route released for TSW2020) but you also will get the route and locomotives to add to the scenario editor which adds lots of new possibilities!
knew i would give in.lol, just bought it with discount 16.24,saved 8.75 which can go towards isle o wight, happy days.
If you don't have it yet, wait until more German routes comes to preserved collection. Mainly RRO, Main Spessart Bahn and Ruhr Sieg Nord. With those you get a good selection of different traction on this route and enjoy it even more. I mean traffic wise. Never the less, it's a great routes, very enjoyable. I'm yet to play it on TSW2 as I have more traffic on TSW2020 but once most of the stuff is over, I'm happy.
see post above your post.yes have all above dlc and just waiting on preserved releases,as you say will add great choice.also really enjoying haupstrecke.
Bought HRR last night in the sale so have it in both TSWs and looking forward to using it more. Have driven one service in the 425 and I’m already happy. Once I have Rivet’s Isle of Wight route that’ll be me all set up for the rest of the year - five new routes to play with and some liveries and scenarios to make. Lovely. Then the long wait for all that stuff on the roadmap to appear in future sales. I’m not made of money you know
To be honest, I think ICE paths would be great for the route. In the scenario planner, you can create a path for them, but it would be cool to use them during the timetable.
Am i right in thinking if i purchase this route on sale for tsw2020 cause its £16.24 it will work on both tsw2020 and tsw2?
In short terms, yes, but technically it's a different addon for TSW2 which has to be downloaded separately.
As long as you play TSW2 on the same platform as TSW2020 you won't have to pay again. Edit: Filled in the missing "2" ;-)
