I have typed this post in regards to an offensive image in TS2020. I am referring to the one that comes up whenever I load the scenario editor. It contains a steam profile with the name 'IronBladder'. I personally find this name to be quite disgusting, and unsuitable for any kind of public promotion. I have personally checked the profile, and it is private from what I can tell.

I am not fussed about the user of the profile accessing whatever they wish to legally through their Steam account. But I am personally very frustrated with seeing it each time I load the scenario editor in TS2020.

If there was a way to disable promotional images when the game loads, it would be good. But I am not sure how this is done, hence the eyesore.

I personally don't think the image is suitable AT ALL for a game is not restricted to those above 15 years of age. I would like to see it removed immediately if possible please.

I have attached a screenshot of the loading screen to provide proof of this unwelcome image.

I know I'm basically talking to a brick wall regarding this, but it would be nice to see confirmation of the contrary.

If you found where the loading screen images are located, you could possibly delete all the ones you don't like and then set the folder as read-only. That way, the game couldn't download and use any new screenshots.

If I remember correctly, if you launch TS2020 without your PC being connected to the internet, then those community screenshot loading images will not appear.

Could be wrong, but it's worth checking.

The images are always loaded from the internet and not saved locally.
If you don't want to see any images but the default one, just block "Railworks.exe" and/or "Railworks64.exe" in your Windows Firewall.

Then it shouldn't pull down any images, but it could also be that you hinder other services like friend statistics on how well they did on the career scenario's or maybe the workshop as well.

As for the name, it is just a username and for the image, it is just a screenshot of a route in the game that conforms to that theme.

I personally don't find anything offensive about someone declaring the strength of their bladder via their username... I imagine Ironbladder would drink me under the table.

Oh dear, you find the word bladder offensive? It's the correct term for a part of your anatomy. Worried that the kiddies will see it, they might ask what a bladder is and learn something.

BTW, the picture is of Durham Cathedral. That might offend non christians.

I thought this was going to be something serious but the picture is just of a cathedral next to the ECML with the name Iron Bladder the person who took this picture. If I remember correctly you have to be off line to not view the screenshots

Is it a genuine post? The forum award trophies for a new user look a little out of sync.

I take offence at the username of SAR704 as the SARS epidemic killed 700 + people.

    Maybe the OP is trolling.

Idk, people can be offended over the dumbest things this day and age who knows, but those forum badges are definitely suspicious. They should only have 1.

Inappropriate Promotional Images? Since they were created and put live by DTG you'd better complain to them, but I think you'll find that nobody else finds "iron", "bladder" or Durham Cathedral offensive, so you'll have to come to terms with your upset.

    IronBladder and proud!

I think the question we all need to know:

Do you have an actual iron bladder?

Of course not, it stretches like everybody else's!

I actually got the idea for my wacky user name for an episode of Blackadder Goes Forth, where General Melchett justifies his failure to be in the front lines on his "dicky iron bladder". It was considered a broadcastable phrase by the BBC and I see no reason to be upset about it.

I have noticed a bug in the forum software where in the original post, the poster gets all the badges of the last post in the thread. It really surprised me in one of my threads to see I had half a dozen badges, then 5 mins later it was back to 2 when someone else posted.

This is only an issue with the original post, other messages do show correctly regardless!

This thread is rather bizarre. Of all the things to take offence at, I’m puzzled at how this username/screenshot can be offensive to anyone.

I cannot say if it is a genuine post or not, but I doubt the award tropies are related. I'm a new user myself and I saw some forum award tropies under my name that certainly did not belong there (like a 100 posts award even though I made less than 10 so far).

At the time I am making this very post, the awards seem to be displayed fine for me. But this was not the case when I was making my introductry "hello" post

The forum awards seem to be bugged currently.

I am deeply offended by it. Anything north of St Albans is disgusting. If ever I see a train run by Northern I projectile vomit on an orphan.

This is a joke. I think Durham Cathedral is a beautiful building, even if it was built by Kuju.
That was also a joke, I am sure that Kuju wasn't founded until hundreds of years after Durham Cathedral was built.

It may be my first post here. But I've been using train sim forums since the 2000s. When something annoys me, I express it, as civil liberties do permit this.

Gee, does this forum even have moderators?

SAR704, I've been very fortunate and over the last 18 months had eight screenshots featured on the TS2000 loading pages, all of which had my user name on them. I'm interested to know why this particular one upset you. That's a serious question. PM me if you prefer.

By the same token, others are within their 'civil liberties' to express their opinion on the statement that you have made.

It is also within 'civil liberties' to use the word bladder that most people do not find offensive.

Besides, there are references to human anatomy in railway parlance in steam locomotives. Do you find those offensive?

I'm going to lock this thread here.

Suffice to say that we do not use of "bladder" to be offensive. It is both an engineering and biological term for a flexible storage vessel. Even on a strictly anatomical basis, it really doesn't cross the line into anything more than a functionary part of the body.
