Get TSW2020, possibly get TSW2 as well, but buy the preserved content in TSW2020. If anyone was to buy just TSW2 now and then get some Preserved Collection content they would be faced with some really bad issues. TSW2020 is much better for the vast majority of the available content right now.

Plus, if they were to buy all the preserved stuff for TSW2 and then find out from forums and such that it works much better in TSW2020 they would have to buy it all again to use it in TSW2020 if they were to check that out afterwards.

Preserved collection is the best deal maker here. While I find the Tsw2 platform to be superior, you can easily get any TSW2020 bundle on sale and have fun with it. And as soon as there is a bundle or sale for Tsw2 you can get that, and migrate all your previous content from TSW2020 into Tsw2 (except NEC).

As it stands right now, Tsw2 has a really good price point for the three routes that you get with it already. It should already provide enough variation for you to hold out until the preserved collection routes are on sale again, if you don't have any of them already.

TSW2 because it will be worked on with new content, patches, fixes etc. Plus you have stuff from TSW2020.

Buy both TSW2 and TSW2020, considering the content from TSW2020 gets preserved to TSW2 :P

NEC isn't part of the TSW2020 editions. Paying €30 for 4 routes which all carry over to TSW2 is a pretty good deal IMO.

TSW 2 simply for future support and new DLCs. TSW2020 will become obsolete and preserved content is slowly making its way into TSW 2.

At the moment I would buy TSW2, but I bought TSW2020 and after bought TSW2. For my weak computer with nvidia geforce gtx 760 tsw2020 works a little better, I hope that TSW2 will be optimized in the future.

If I had just bought TSW2, I would not buy any preserved content right now. I see there are quite a number of bugs in the preserved content and I'm not sure how many of them will be fixed. The new TSW2 content (Bakerloo, Koln-Aachen) seems to be pretty much working perfectly, so I assume future TSW2 DLC will be the same and cause no trouble. I think saving money for the future TSW2 DLC is the best option.

On top of that, the preserved collection does not allow one to reskin using the Livery Editor. I was kind of bummed out when I realized I could not reskin my preserved LIRR (M7) (M3) content from TSW2020.

Overall TSW2 is eye pleasing, technical, challenging (when not using the HUD), and a lot of fun to play, so I voted to recommend just starting with that.
