Just wondering which third party devs people like the most. mine is probably DTM because I own a lot of their stuff and nearly all of it has been exceeding my expectations of devs like RSC and even DTG.
-DTM: Decent locos usually bundled with new rolling stock. -Smokebox: Excellent Steam Locomotives -Reppo: Exellent Pro Range Locos -G-Trax/VNHRR/Great Northerner: Great Routes from this group. Unfortunately G-Trax's steam locos haven't aged well... -Milepost Simulations: Currently the only developer of retail Canadian Routes for TS20XX -Union Workshop: Only developer of Japanese routes for TS 20XX
yeah totally forgot about Smokebox they are awesome too, but i only have their FEF3 and it has been great.
I love Armstrong powerhouse the trains look great but the sounds, wow brilliant. Cannot drive default stock now. I also like what Alan Thompson is doing with his site too
Mine would be Dtm most thier stuff I love Iam wait for the Erie u34ch Serchlight has sd40 thier site Reppo thier stuff is good Rsc aways had good stuff
Armstrong Powerhouse - Superb modelling and texturing. Good physics, great sounds, though I think their rolling stock is too quite, especially wagons. Bossman Games - Similar to AP (above) who they collaborate with. Their Welsh Marches route is probably the best modelled UK route. Chris Trains - Excellent after sale service with continual updating and improvement of models. Accurate modelling, but textures seem a bit matt to me. 3DZug - Best sounds I've ever heard on rolling stock. Good external modelling. Lovely internal carriage modelling, probably the best in TS. Virtual Railroads - Almost complete fidelity to real life, but texturing can be a bit matt. Just Trains - A bit variable, but when they are good they are very good. Recent routes impress. Victory Works - Recent steam locos are some of the best British locos available. Earlier products are good, but need updating to current standards.
