I would definitely buy it, if a pacer was made for this line. I mainly do passenger services so it would make it even more interesting.
It'd have to be cranked up to simulate the experience in a 'nodding donkey'. It should be given there's no gears and it has normal brakes. That's partly why I want it, as although I don't find the 101 too hard to drive, it's not the most relaxing of drives.
Yeh I have always felt the pacer is a big thing missing from tees valley. I'd also settle for some regional railways mk1s/mk2s and the 31!
The Pacers (particularly class 143) were probably more common on this route in 1989 than the 101, especially the 3 car ones which I think would have all but disappeared. The unpowered centre coaches were often removed so first generation DMU's could keep to Sprinter timings. It would be great to see a 143, there is a 313 on the roadmap for ECW so it is not impossible.
+1 for Pacers from me, I've spent the last couple years in Manchester so am well acquainted with them. I can safely say they'll probably become my most used passenger train as I mostly do freight... but I'll make an exception for Pacers
Is it a bus? Nearly Is it a train? Almost Is it a tram? No Ah, it must be a Pacer then. Everybody needs a virtual Pacer in their life. It’s what should have been released for TVL instead of the Class 20.
I certainly wanted it ahead of class 20, it really was the main passenger traction for the route in 1989. They have a class 313 on the roadmap for ECW so maybe it isn't impossible.
