hi,im a little confused with regards to the preserved collection stuff, never had TSW1 or TSW2020 on my PS4, but decided to invest in TSW2, so my question is this, can i still buy routes/trains from preserved collection for TSW2,or is it a no
Here's a good tip imo, buy tsw1 routes, you'll get them on tsw 2 and if one day you get tsw 1 youll have the tee 1 routes aviable too instead of buying them solely for tsw2

You can buy all the preserved collection content solely for TSW2 if you want to, once it’s all released. If you were to buy TSW2020 Digital Deluxe Edition though, you will get a lot of routes included in that one purchase and get all the TSW2 versions as well, once they are all released. You can see the routes included in it below and there are also two more routes included in the PS4 version that aren’t supposed to be there and aren’t advertised, one of which will also be in TSW2. That could potentially save you a lot of money if you want those routes, and you don’t need to keep TSW2020 installed. Routes in TSW2020 digital deluxe edition are... Great Western Express Long Island Railroad Northern Trans-Pennine Main Spessart Bahn Peninsular Corridor Extra routes (if still included) are Rapid Transit and NEC New York. NEC is not available as a preserved route for TSW2.
When you purchase something on Train Sim World 2020 that is a part of the preserved collection it will be carried over to TSW2 regardless of when you purchase it. So if you buy the TSW2020 version you get it in both games. (this excludes NEC and the locos associated with it) You will be able to buy the current TSW2 preserved routes from TSW2 when they get added, however they won't carry back over to TSW2020. Hope that offers some clarity.
I could be wrong but I believe they would need to own 2020 base game as well for the games to come over. Not just the routes? I think that is what they were trying to find out. But again, could be wrong
That is correct, any DLC you own on TSW2020 will be carried over with the preserved collection to TSW2 however you will need to purchase the core games in order to play.
