Ooh! Is this an entire rail network, for TSW2? Yes, yes it is. Spanning a distance of 48km, the Mallorca rail network could be a great addition to TSW2. Starting in the sunny city of Palma, take a ride on the historical train to Soller and then a tram to Port Soller or ride on a modern EMU to Manacor or Sa Pobla.

A quick overview of the network
    Lines: Palma-Soller
    Soller-Port Soller (Tram)
    Palma-Manacor
    Palma- Sa Pobla
Palma Metro lines M1 (Placa d'Espanya-UIB) and M2.(Placa d'Espanya- Marratxi)[IMG] One of the EMUs Operated by the SFM (The main company)
Total Distance: 48km/47miles (please see disclaimer)

Description of Palma Placa d'Espanya (the main station on the network)
This is the biggest station on the network and where all trains start. The station is split into 2 levels. The Underground station, which comprises of 10 platforms and the ground level station, which has 1 platform. Trains on the lines to Manacor, Sa Pobla and the Metro use the underground platforms and trains to Soller use the sole ground level platform. These can be seen as separate stations (the underground and ground level platforms) if that is how you want to look at it because if you were to walk between the two, then you would need to go up some escalators to street level and head through a station building (I think, I have never been to Mallorca in my life!) to the Soller platform.

Disclaimer: I am not Spanish in any way nor have I been to Mallorca so if you have been or lived there please feel free to add more pictures or infomation on anything I have missed.

Disclaimer no.2: Wikipedia says the network is 52 miles but the SeeMallorca website says its 48km or 47 miles so I am going with the SeeMallorca website here. Oh and whilst you are still here, why not check out this video

Yes I was thinking of it as well cause you'll get a complete network of an island, and not some route sections torn apart of the whole network. So I' like seeing it in the future.

HamioSamio098 Hello! It would be great to see the Mallorca rail network in TSW6. I'm from Mallorca and I really enjoy trains, so let me actualice the post and we hope we can have this map in a future :).

Recently the Government planned an expansion of the rail network from Palma to Llucmajor, but everything can happen before the beginning of the works. ( We are used to suffer promises and cancellations of expansion projects ).

Despite that, it is true that we still have the lines you mentioned so let me add some new information.
First of all, the "Tren de Soller" and the SFM (Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca) are two different companies. The first one is a private one that operates the Palma-Soller train line, which was inaugurated in 1912 and its mainly a tourist train, and the Soller-Puerto de Soller tram line, which was inaugurated in 1913. Both lines are electrified and they use the 3ft gauge (914mm). The stations are both in ground level and are separated from the mainline. You have more information on the website (https://trendesoller.com/index).

The other company is the public one (SFM). It has 3 train lines and 1 metro line. They both use the metric gauge (1000mm).
The first line runs from Palma to Inca, stopping in all the stations between. The second line goes from Palma to Sa Pobla and the third line from Palma to Manacor. The three lines use the same tracks (double track) from Palma to Inca. Then, the first line finishes its journey and the other two lines are converted in a single track line from the "Enllaç" station (Literally, the station is called "Connection/Link"), which is located after the Inca 2nd station (Constància/Hospital d'Inca) to Sa Pobla (2nd Line) or Manacor (3rd Line). The metro line goes from Palma to the Parc Bit (recently extended. Before it used to go just to the University of the Balearic Islands). The three lines depart from the Palma main station (Estación Intermodal), which have too the hub of the intercity buses. The M2 line was supressed and now its just one metro line and the other 3 train lines.

The EMU trains type you show in the picture aren't working anymore mainly because they have new trains and that ones were DMU (diesel ones). They still have one unit in a museum but its not working in the main lines. Now they mainly operate the Serie 71 made by CAF (https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serie_71_de_SFM) in the Metro Line and the Serie 81, 91 and 1100 in the train lines ( https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serie_81_de_SFM , https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serie_91_de_SFM , https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Servicios_Ferroviarios_de_Mallorca ). Despite that, its common to see the Serie 71 (metro) making services for the main train lines. Its not common to see the Series 81 ( main train used in the train lines) in the metro line but sometimes is operated with this trains. The newest ones, Series 1100, are used in both services (Train and Metro). All the trains were made by CAF ( https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Construcciones_y_Auxiliar_de_Ferrocarriles ) except the Series 91 that were made by Vossloh ( https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vossloh ). These trains, the Serie 91, were bought to cover the ampliation of the 3rd train line from Manacor to Artà, but it was never made, so now they operate Express trains between Palma and Sa Pobla but it doesnt stop in every train stations because its lower and not all are adapted to this type of train.

As I said before, the metro line was extended from the Univerisity to the Parc Bit. In the train line they recently opened another station in Inca, after the main station coming from Palma. It's an improvement for the accesibility to the Hospital of Inca.

That's a small summary. If you need something more just notice me. See you!!
