Hi guys, with the few mods we already have for TSW2 I was wondering if there is a dedicated mod site for TSW or TSW2?
Be sure to download https://tsw-mod-manager.de/ An easy way to load and unload your mods and liveries.
Wow, never knew this existed even for the old TSW, already installed, and all i can say is wow! Is there a similar thing for liveries and scenarios or do i need to do those manually? Ive seen that the manager does have some liveries to download as well..
Livery manager: https://github.com/RagingLightning/TSW2-Livery-Manager/releases Scenarios should be simply put in your savegames folder.
Thnx, ill give it a view regarding repaints, and ill just shove the scenarios into the savegames then! Cheers
Be advised that "liveries" now means two different things. First, there are the old-style TSW/TSW2020 reskins, which take the form of .pak files. These completely replace the default livery from the game: all you will ever see is the new one. .pak file mods are also used for static assets etc. These you can install manually by just dropping them in the DLC folder, although utilities exist to do this for you. Second, there are the new-style TSW2 liveries, which take the form of .tsw2liv files. These exist alongside the default liveries, just like ones you create yourself in Livery Designer (in fact, any imported .tsw2liv repaints appear in Livery Designer), can be chosen in timetable mode, and spawn randomly on AI rolling stock. To date, the only way to import these is using the Livery Manager app linked above.
So you can't use the TSW/TSW2020 (.pak files) reskins on TSW2? (.tsw2liv files) There's also no hope for me using the TSW2 Livery Manager. It just crashes every time I try to load a skin in.
There is nothing inherently wrong with using .pak files just like always; sometimes those made for TSW2020 will cause a crash when the route is loaded, sometimes they don't (depends really on whether the particular asset it's replacing was revised in the TSW2 version). Not sure why LM is crashing- have you tried running it as administrator?
As solicitr said: If you use DX 12 (which is not officially supported) then you wont be able to either use the livery editor or the liveries created within the livery editor due to some incompatibilities (which is kind of strange but whatever, IT things doing IT things). The old "legacy" reskins are usable with DX 12.
Right. Although actually to be safe, use .pak reskins made expressly for TSW2- try older ones, because often they work fine, but sometimes they will cause a "corrupted data found" message when you try to load the route.
DX 12 on TSW 2 is quite wonky in terms of with what hardware does it works with properly. I do have a 1050 TI and cant use livery manager in combination with DX 12.
Now that's interesting, because my rig is very similar, but the LD subprogram or any route containing an LD livery absolutely crashes on load under DX12 for me.
Same. UE4 just crashes when I have DX12 and LM on. I hope DTG might add support for DX12, cus I get lots of fps out of it.
No issues here either....... 16 month old laptop which has only ever had DX12 installed. Dell Inspiron 7591 Intel i7 9750H 16gb RAM Nvidia GTX 1650 Windows 10 fully up to date Never had any issues running the game or Livery Editor.
wait with a 1660? I have a 1050ti and my game runs at 50-40 fps without DX12 shouldn't the 1660 be FAR better?
Which means it ALSO has DX10 and DX11 installed. TSW runs under DX11 by default, you have to specify DX12 in your Steam settings to get it to run that way. But whenever I do that, custom liveries cause an instant crash.
Yes, I do have a 10-20 fps slowdown. My average fps can range from 25 to 80 depending on if I'm looking at a yard/station or at the ceiling/sky. Edit: On DX11, of course. I can get much higher on 12.
I mean when you use the DXDiag tool to check which version of DX you have installed would it say all versions or only 12? Because for me DXDiag only says I have DX12 installed.
for me its goes sometimes below 30 TrainSim-Matt any plans to make Clinch get some optimization? Since the other TSW routes has better frames then clinchfield
Man, damned if they do, damned if they don't! Given all the threads about "why should we have to suffer with nerfed graphics because of old consoles", when DTG do pack in the scenery detail, at performance cost.......
This is interesting stuff. Could modding be done to their other titles? Fishing Sim World or Bassmasters Fishing 2022? And if so how would one go about opening the files? I see those games use .pak files as well. Any info would be helpful as I am interested in looking into modding these games
While i was on youtube i came across this video of another Mod created by our fan and player Foobian, regarding the new dynamic weather for Rainy season. Here is the link What are your guys thought?
