I just thought about this, and I don't think anyone really talks about HUDs, and since it's such an important subject, I'd thought that I'd ask about which ones you guys like to use. I personally use the minimized F3 HUD, but I'm certain others are such pros that they use no HUD!

For me, it depends on what I am driving and how much experience I have. I mostly drive with the minimized HUD as I use an Xbox controller so I don't need the levers on the full HUD but it still gives me the information I need to run on time. I think that the only loco I run exclusively with no HUD is the ICE 2 as it has really nice in-cab signalling and speed limits.

My own custom F3 hud, the aws warning is a sunflower (Not the actual flower but the train aws one) as opposed to the black and yellow square and there are other subtle differences like a more transparent circle where the speed and track speed are displayed. I tend to swap routes a lot so haven't learnt enough to go completely hud free.

F3 hud. And then all the necesary controls on a second screen (via ts-telemetry) so i can get the full scenery view on the main screen.

Dark version with AWS sunflower. It's from UKTS... Same one Peter linked to a few posts back.

I use the small HUD for my videos. On routes I know really well. I turn it off.

I prefer F3 HUD when driving trains.
On the 2nd Monitor: I use TS-MFD, ThirdRails Map Tool and also TS-Telemetry (See post #8)

Map tools are useful, but I never understood the point of having speed info etc on a second monitor if you use the HUD
