Is anyone else having trouble getting AP weather to work with this route? There was no Time of Day folder in the route, and according to the AP manual, it says... "If there is no folder called this, find the ‘template’ blueprint for the route which is usually in a folder called ‘TemplateRoutes’. Open this blueprint and see where the TimeOfDay blueprints are located and go there." There is however, no blueprint in the TemplateRoutes folder. I created a Time of Day folder and dumped the AP files in there, but as I expected, it doesn't do anything.

Any ideas? I'm missing something obvious I bet.

I don't have the AP Weather but Portsmouth Direct is heavy on fps around Waterloo. Maybe your TX980 has met its Waterloo.

Well, I've just gone into my DTG Folder and there is a Time of Day folder in this route, you have to extract it from the .AP file don't you? My TOD folder is outside my .AP file now which is what the game reads first, doesn't it?

I had no TOD folder after unpacking the AP file. Weird. May re-download the route and try again.

I confirm like you that there is NO TOD or 'Template Routes' folder in the PDL .ap folder
    From the manual:
Supported Routes: DTG Portsmouth Direct Line: London Waterloo - Portsmouth

Go to the assets folder for the relevant route and find the folder called ‘TimeOfDay’. If there is no folder called this, find the ‘template’ blueprint for the route which is usually in a folder called ‘TemplateRoutes’. Open this blueprint and see where the TimeOfDay blueprints are located and go there.

Perhaps drop Richard Armstrong an email and see what he says?

Thanks for confirming that. It was because it was listed as a supported route I decided to post. Will get on it tomorrow evening.

    @ Peter and Pookeyhead

Well, there is a TOD and a 'Template Routes' in my .AP file, as per attached screenshot. I obtained the route in October 2018 and kept the .AP file intact, have you downloaded the route recently, maybe DTG have fiddled about with the route .AP file and sent a corrupted file to Steam and it's now missing, you might want to do some investigation first.

    Cheerz. Steve.

I owe you an apology - I was looking in the ROUTES folder but should (as Steve points out) been looking in ASSETS folder. There is a TOD etc folder in the PortsmouthDirect assets .ap folder.
I was looking in the wrong folder!!!
Steve many thanks for the correct info!!

Well.. re-installed it. and same again. No Time of Day folder, and no blueprint file inside my TemplateRoutes folder. Here's what I have inside Template Routes.

    Doh!

I was looking in the wrong folder too. Not in the same way Peter was though. I was looking in "PortsmouthDirect", but that's the folder for the DTG "Portsmouth Direct - London Waterloo to Portsmouth"... this route....

    1.jpg

I also have another route called "Portsmouth Direct"... this one....

    2.jpg

    ....which appears to be older

They both appear to be DTG... but I can't find the folder for the one I'm trying to change.

I'll sort it out now I know what's going wrong... don't worry. LOL

    Thanks for the help.

There are 2 routes featuring Portsmouth, the original route that came under RSC called Guildford District, and then the updated version which is now under DTG as Portsmouth Direct, I don't know of any others as such, personally, unless you obtained it from Steam Workshop, or, it's a 3rd party freeware route from someone's website.

Don't worry Peter, we all have an off day, no need to apologise, it's called growing old.....:D:D
