I would also like to see Japan in TSW, so long as I don't have to start pointing at things and talking to myself

Don't see it happening until Union Workshop makes the jump to TSW. They are the ones who have developed routes for TS and are probably gonna be the only ones to develop a route for TSW.

Also, none of the Japan routes in TS actually have any branding from the railroads themselves, just the manufacturer of the equipment.

Bummer. I didn't notice the lack of branding... what a shame...

This means it's not going to get the go ahead for TSW from my understanding of things...

Yes, like you said, no Danish Routes :(:(:(:(
Hopefully, the way forward is to lead into some other countries like France, Japan and other European countries so that then they can make their way slowly into the other countries like Denmark, Italy, Spain, etc...
But for now, Denmark and the other countries are a distant dream... :(
I think a Japanese route would be interesting. Maybe the high speed or Freight (if the have any freight) would suit me more as am not so interested in their local passenger.

One could hope that this could be for TSW2. I'm hoping it is. Union Workshop is working on an E5.

Not mentioning they stated on their Weibo 'Train Simulator / Train Sim World game DLC production group'

They do have freight, but I believe they are all owned by JR under JRF.

You're misinformed here. DTG never developed any Japanese DLC themselves. All the Japanese DLC available was made by third party developer Union Workshop. It's pretty similar to DTG never have done any Swiss routes, pretty much all Swiss routes were done by Rivet Games. Fortunately Rivet Games have made the step into TSW. Our best chances for a Japanese route would be to convince Union Workshop to make the step into TSW as well. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find Union Workshops website or social media, to poke them about TSW.

I think a first step would be to get the game translated into Japanese. With TSW being on the Playstation it would probably have a better chance of getting a foothold. I noticed the most recent UW Japanese route used the "UR" branding that some Anime uses to avoid having to licence from JR. Also I'm guessing you'd need to get the entire JR Group (9 independent companies* share the trademark) on board to get the logo? Not sure if one part can license on behalf of the others.

Union Workshop are based in China so are a limited as to what social media they can be on. They did post on Weibo that they were starting to experiment with UE, and posted up some Chinese interior renders. But a route/train for TSW is probably some way off and the test renders were posted after the E5 teaser - so I'm thinking the E5 is probably going to be for TS Classic.

To be honest, DTG are more focused on EU and US routes at the moment as TGV High Speed coming and the Arosa line by Rivet Games. I dont see Japanese and asian countries to be added for at least a year.

Yep, sadly I was quite wrong, as already pointed out, didn't do much research before posting this, which of course is not ideal, I still think the point stands, the Shinkansen would be the the best HSR system to bring in TSW in my opinion

I'm not a huge fan of high speed. I'd rather see one of those commuter trains running through Japanese scenery.

I'm with you on this, but DTG has already made clear TSW 2 is going to focus a lot on High Speed, to show off their game engine can sustain that

This year, if I understood correctly. And I understand there's a demand for high speed routes. Once they've made a few, I'm sure the focus will be somewhere else.
