Hi all Does anyone know where I can find some older sound packs from Armstrong Powerhouse? They don't have them on their website anymore and I wanted to update the sounds of some rollingstock that I have. These include FCC Class 319 Class 50 Class 158/159 FGW Class 165/166 Class 150/1 Class 37 Class 31 Class 56 Class 67 I know they have enhancement packs but the features of these packs aren't added to the original locos required (DTG, Steam). I mainly want them so that I can improve the sounds in the default scenarios. Any info would be awesome. Cheers. Jamie
Unfortunately I don't think there's a legal way to get them. I have the 50 sound pack but you aren't allowed to redistribute them. AP has very good customer service so if you emailed them they may be able to hook you up with some of those packs, but probably with a fee. No guarantees though.
When Armstrong Powerhouse releases an Enhancement Pack they withdraw any Sound Packs that feature the same loco/unit AFAIK there never was a sound pack for the Class 165/166 Peter
Just stumbled across this topic as the existing sounds on the 166 are somewhat hilarious. However I have just found this which has a 166 sound mod: https://samtsm.co.uk/sounds.html Not tried it yet but it can't be any worse!
There was an AP 165/166 sound pack from their early days. I think it came after the first HST and class 47 sound packs, this was back in Railworks days, with the original RS class 166 which sounded liked a clapped out Transit van!
I emailed them about getting the 150 sound patch so I could update the just trains 153 but they will not let you have them even though I did pay for the 1501/1 enhancement pack.
I often wonder why they got rid of the class 87 sound pack pro. I could understand it if they did a 87 Enhancement pack now, but they don't.
Was it a class 86/87 soundpack, I think that is what I have? If so it was probably when they released the class 86 enhancement pack. A shame it was removed. He could have maybe remarketed it as a class 87 sound pack I suppose.
I can confirm that it applies to both the 86 and the 87. I still wish the 87 got the works like the 86 when the enhancement pack came out though!
Yes me too. Maybe there will be one in the future. The class 317 looks nice which is the next product.
AP released a Class 86-87 Sound Pack Pro around 2014, with the Class 86 (only) EP issued much later circa 2020.
