This afternoon I thought I’d take this old friend for a run. Since Tsw2 I been enjoying my routes running between 60-62fps. Well it was quite a shock. Graphically it looked pretty good, but with no altered settings I was getting between 22-32fps. I can quite see why updating it to the new engine would require a complete rewrite. Sad as I really like Amtrak routes. Lets hope they are thinking of a suitable replacement in the near future.
Well if would make sense to make other Amtrak stuff since they got the licence. Maybe they could make another NEC in the future, one that actually makes sense sizewise (maybe make it longer) and also better quality.
I do hope that the NEC will be attempted sometime in the future since the original is not being brought forward - would, of course, like to see NYC to Washington DC length but would be only slightly annoyed if two sections were made NYC to Philly then Philly to DC. My hopes of ever getting the route from Boston to Washington DC is probably just as much a pipe dream as anything else of such a length.
LoL davidh0501 You read my mind, I was just about to post about this. It is really sad that it's not being brought forward. What I was wondering thought... was it the problem with the MAP, or with the trains as well. IF they have the licence, could they at least salvage the trains and import them into tsw2? TBH, I don't care that it may not be "realistic" to run them on other maps, but so what?! It would be awesome fun though! Like how we can mix it now in the Planner and do whatever. Sandpatch, West Coast, whatever... anywhere would be fun =) Where is the "realism" when Sam floors it? nowhere, but its interesting to watch! and imo that is the main goal: FUN. WG, PLEASE save the trains from NEC and bring them into tsw2? Also... the route selection buttons in Main Menue are better in tsw2020. WG please keep the new LAYOUT but bring back the buttons with PICTURES, not how it is now, just boring "text". THANKS =) ATTN: DTG Protagonist
It would perhaps be cool to create the surroundings of Philly with Keystones changing directions on their way to Harrisburg.
