In this is going to happen, I would definitely buy Rhein Ruhr Osten, even if it’s “only” for TSW 1. It would improve TSW 2 even more, because longer routes would be possible for the player, without much more effort for DTG.
I definitely second this! I'd love to see all routes that share a station (within the same timeline) joined. All routes within one region though, Rhein Ruhr, would be amazing, but highly unlikely cause of how much work that would be, especially cause you can't just let go of some of the lesser sidelines cause it'd be incomplete.
One massive map of Rhein-Ruhr lines (eventually) would be awesome. Seeing lines disappearing around corners or into tunnels and then ending is a real shame.
Yes it is, in my opinion they should focus some resources into trying to create an extension to a route because longer journeys would be amazing.
Agree. For many people, the Sand Patch scenarios are too long, but... German railway, a varied landscape, signaling, security systems. Combine everything, add services and you will fall into euphoria vedi Napoli e poi muori
Even with short routes and knowing they doing route extension I'm happy with that but so far no news on route extensions for TSW2. Still overall longer routes is a must especially with mixture of Freight and Passenger services.
would be nice, but the scenario has to be interesting too. Not only green lights, events, IA, etc. If not, that would be very boring like sand patch ones
You are right altough I'm quite sure that with the volume of trains that run on the German lines something intersesting will happen eventually.
I totally Support this idea! Especially where These two routes already exist it shouldn't be that much of a technical issue to join these two routes. Maybe they can do it in a way that you can still enter every Route on it's own but then are offered a third Route which is the combined one or something like that.
Scenarios need to be more engaging and with the amount of stock coming in the near future for Germany it needs engaging scenarios so far I stay away from scenarios so far play only timetable mode. Haven't gone into scenario editor yet until it gets an update of some sort.
That would be good indeed if they left the two routes as they are and create a third one that is both of them joined. Great idea =).
Not having either of these routes, and wanting to get into German routes, I would pay $50-60 for this, and it would definitely push me over the edge to buy these routes. I hope they consider this, it would give them a lot of new players purchasing the old routes.
You are absolutely right, it would be a way for them to refresh those two old routes and gain many potential buyers.
It's clear a lot of you are very enthusiastic about this idea, however as was previously mentioned "there is currently no plan of any kind for this merger to take place". Thank you for taking the time to create this thread, we are already aware of the interest in this merger and your interests have been heard.
I really hope that they will listen. That doesn’t really give me any more information as to if and when this will happen, but hopefully it’s being passed up the line as something we want. As for right now, I’m going to hold off on buying either route until it either shows up on the roadmap or gets a definite “no” answer. Speaking of the roadmap, isn’t the new one supposed to come out soon?
We need Hagen to Dortmund and Bochum to Dortmund as Expansion, so we can drive the RE4 from Wuppertal to Dortmund with Wetter and Witten as Stations and we can drive from Finnentrop to Essen the RE16
Me too, especially to see if they add some of those much needed bugfixes. Maybe one day they will add the Ruhr Sieg Nord and Rhein-ruhr Osten merger. One can only hope =).
Thanks to everyone who supported and commented on this thread. Thanks to you we may have this merger at some point in the future. =)
Honestly the problem is not the lenght of the scenario. But what you can do in the scenario. In SPG dlc, honestly if you run from A to B of the route is really boring. Normally you take ~120 min but during this time you just stay to see the locomotive that try to go up or down from the hills. And stop. No stations, No exanges, no switching. Nothing. Ok i'm not a great fan of US trains but to be honest there is Not a lot of "action" in that route. Just cumberland freight yard is good to play if you like do shutting operations.
That's what I meant - 2h is too much for the SPG, but OK on the Merged-German trails, with PZB and other attractions. Not enough local ops, which causes interesting complications on American routes. Possibly Shaw Mine. Not enough. UPDATE Pray to the Lord \o/ \o/ \o/
I think that after all routes on the roadmap will be released (preserved and New) a good things to do is that DTG makes an official thread where ask to the community what we prefer. New routes or extention of the routes that are released yet. Honestly the truth is in the middle. I know that create a 200+ km route is very hard to develop expetially for console (maybe for next gen?) but i think that 1 or 2 extention for route (exemple MSB) with 30 or 35 new km to drive will be a great feature. Also with the new locos dlc (+ new cars and rolling stoks and service on time table) can makes every route very interesting to drive and with the "sharing" (exemplete br 146 with regio on SKA) will be amazing to do. I think that the really problem of the TSW2 could be the high speed train. ~40/60 km for a route are very too shot for an ice for exemple and drive it just from A to B is "stupid" for me. They need 1 or 2 stop in the middle to be much challenging and a total 4 stop for an high speed train needs minimum 120/140km for a route. However we are just at the beginning, the game is fantastic if you like train in all aspects, and maybe munich - augstburg can be a good start to try an "extention" as munich hbf is a terminal they can create a second line from another great station so we can have 3 variants A to B - A to C - B to A to C and can be very interesting expetially with freight (in munich yards) IC with a change of loco or a recovery service for IC to the depot and same things with ice. And with the diesel locos for shutting operation expetially for preparing train (freight or passengers) will be one of the most interesting route. And i think that this one can be done with all routes. We do not ask the moon. We just ask more traffict ahah
Exactly. I'm much interested for locos dlc than the routes. But yes more complicate and busier route. I really like to see many different trains run on the same route. Exemple a good loco dlc can be the ICE 1 for german highspeed.
I would like to see the two routes merged, I'm not fussed on timetable mode being included as long as the routes are set up so we can make our own scenarios in Scenario Designer
That is so true, I never though of it that way but you are absolutely right. With the scenario designer we can just create a service that runs from one end to the other.
Even if I now make myself unpopular, I give the proposal a dislike. Why? Because this route merging would only be real, if at all, for freight trains. There is no direct passenger traffic from the direction of Wuppertal via Hagen in the direction of Finnentrop (Siegen). You would always have to change trains in Hagen. If you would like to drive freight trains from Finnentrop to Wuppertal, you can do so with the scenario manager when RRO for TSW 2 appears. You can then create a scenario for both routes with the handover in hagen.
That is true. However with the scenario designer you could create a passenger service from Wuppertal to Finnentrop even if it does not exist in real life.
Why is this combination important? 1.We will get a longer route. 2.We will see that route merging is possible. 3.We can expect the expansion of any route in the future. 4.We will receive a new package of services. Interest in the game and expectations from extensions will increase. 4.This needs to be done faster and DTG will get new players.
Then you can also wait until RRO appears in the Preserved Collection and then use the scenario designer to create a scenario for a train in RSN and RRO. You can then also drive a train on both routes. It would be much better to expand some of the routes. RSN could then be extended to Siegen, or RRO to Düsseldorf.
I would start with RSN and RRO - these routes already exist in the game And they have a common point along the route - Hagen. Otherwise, merging may make little sense.
Yeah but the point is to be able to drive from Finnentrop to Wuppertal without load screens. I could change routes as you said but it would break the inmmersion. I agree but for that they would have to make an entire new route. On the other hand, this merger takes little work to achieve and it is a way to start testing and developing tools for future mergers.
