PC September 29th Patches Didn't Actually Apply

So I've seen that the issues that have claimed to been fixed on the PC are still broken and after doing some investigative digging on the steamdb, I may have discovered what happened.

One of the great things about the steamdb is that you can see when patches come out, and shows them in a list of changed depots. These depots represent the various DLC's that have come out during TSW 2020/TSW 2's lifetime and each depot represents one TSW/TSW2 DLC.

Now when I comes to yesterday's patch, it turns out that the patch that came out on PC didn't actually apply the fixes for the existing PC routes. All it did was add support for the upcoming Preserved Collection routes coming out tomorrow:


Now to compare to if a Preserved Collection route was being patched, here's the update for September 8th which added support for the second batch of PC content which came out 2 days later and as you can see here, the PC routes being patched are shown here in uncoloured text. I've highlighted them so they can pointed out a bit better:


Now I've heard the console players received the patch with no real issues so it just the PC players that haven't received the fixes and hopefully can be addressed ASAP.

This sounds logical as the update was quite small

 

The fixes definitely appear to be working for me on PS4 Pro, so it does seem to be limited to PC.

 

For me AFB on BR 185 is still broken.

Edit: Just tested it again and decelerating from 100 to 80 -> train slowed down to 65 and then started accelerating to 80.

 

I just tested the AFB on the BR185 and I confirm the same. I will say that the AFB commanded deceleration is quite realistic (the real one in G-brake setting is 0.32m/s^2 and I measured 0.35m/s^2 but that is close enough to be within margin of error when you account for wind resistance etc.

 

I can confirm, it brakes too long and should release and adjust the brakes at/near targetspeed

My test was 40 to 25 and it slowed me down to 12, then accelerating to 25.





Tested again in TSW2020, and the brakes are releasing at/near target speed 25.
That's how it should be.

 

yeah what happened was somehow the patch on PC was not applied, only compatibility with preserved content so evrything listed as fixed is not

Same here, no fix works. How could something like this slip past the QA process?

 

Might be intentional to release today with preserved collection.

 

Doesn't look that preserved collection applied the fixes, atleast not for the BR Class 377/4. Would be nice if someone from DTG would actually acknowledge this thread. Just a simple "We've taken note and are looking into it" goes a long way.

I was hoping for this to be resolved before the weekeend so we'll see after but it's till present even after preserved

 

So it is more or less safe to assume that PC wont get any fixes until the next patch arrives IF they apply the next patch on PC. DTG isnt known to fix stuff quick so I guess PC players have to wait which is a shame.

 

Oddly enough patches are partly slow because of console testing phase due to sony and microsoft so to be fair idk I suspect this issue has simply not even been acknowledged but hopefully we'll get a message Soon™ from DTG saying something like we know we'll fix it in a jiffy.

 

Haha, it's been since last Wednesday, DTG has what? 3 community people, and they can't even pop in and say anything. Come on DTG, minimal effort would be nice lol.

Incompetent/non-existent QA. This isn't a one off, user specific problem. It's obvious someone isn't doing their job properly.

 

These new CMs seem absolutely useless, sack um and just keep sam, at least he knows what he's on about and keeps lines of communication open, are the new CMs even on discord, in all fairness they should have actually recruited someone from the community who's actually active on the forums and the discord. But that's just my 2 cents

You ask a lot Natalie!. I experience still issues with AWS where the yellow sign exclamation mark in the HUD is not cleared. It think the issue is that when you ass a green aspect signal, AWS is triggered, but you do not need to respond. However, the alert sign goes on and refuses to go off again. I thought this is one of the fixes for 29th. but still not working.

 

Both bugs, the AFB on 185.2 and the AWS hud behaviour on 377/4 are still present after redownloading all DLCs.

The brake gauge of 377/4 is still not animated.

 

Thanks for addressing this Natalie...but how does it take a full week for anyone at DTG to even acknowledge one of the top threads in the technical forum for your flagship game? I just don't get it.

 

For me it looks like this: RAILION livery OK; DB livery is broken (AFB)
Tested both on the same SERVICE, a minute ago: RSN DB80214

PS Format c: /s & fresh TSW2 install

 

I can second This (the and redownload ) had no effect on the bugs every one of them is still present

 

There was no update added to SteamDB so re-installing won't do anything. Nothing has been added or updated so nothing has changed.

Don't shoot the messenger (in this case DTG Natster) although this shows that miscommunication is still a big issue within the company.

 

DTG Natster - Just tested this now - uninstalled the game and the DLC - Reinstalled game and DLC. - Verified Integrity of Game files - all issues still remain that should have been resolved in this patch

 

Just to warn others - DO NOT ATTEMPT TO UNINSTALL/RE-INSTALL YOUR DLC'S as advised!

No update was pushed out so this 'fix' will do absolutely nothing. You will only end up wasting your time.

 

What was the problem with Cement Circle?

Just finished this Scenario with Class 31 without problems.
There was a red signal but i had to wait for another train passed me by. Red went to single yellow and i proceeded.
Next signal was red because the other train was still in front of me. I can't count that as an issue.
Even i got a Trophy.

Maybe some was fixed at 29th and some not?!

 

And use RAILION LIVERY which is OK. AFB is working fine. Only DB is broken.

 

I guess DB need to fix their AFB

kylel2036 Actually Railion is DB Cargo. They renamed it from Railion to DB Cargo a few years ago.

Wow, that means there are two different 185.2 instead of just two different liveries.
BTW, the Railion version has a working ammeter too, the DB version not..

 

"Railion" is from MSB if I remember correctly. In every version of TSW "DB" was broken somehow. Neverending story...
PS To make matters worse, now they also differ in the availability of services on the timetable - SKA, e.g.

 

And don't forget the Baby Bullet red box HUD issue that DTG claimed was fixed in the previous batch of updates that has never seemed to have arrived.

DTG Natster is there any update on this as they have been fixed for those on console, but it’s not on roadmap for those of us on PC.
