Just spent 8 hours trying to update my Geforce Card through Nvinda Experience. the first time after 3 hours i gave up, tried it again, went for a walk 4 hours later it was still only halfway through the instalation, I googled it and found that having Steam open can affect the installation, I closed Steam and the driver then installed in 5 mins. Hope this helps anyone with the same problem.

It does generally say to close all running programs before starting the installation process.

Yeah.... Last time I did that, it insisted on putting on a stupid "game ready" driver that didn't have NVidia Control Panel, and said I had to get control panel from the windows app store.. which I couldn't, because it wouldn't let me, because it insisted I already had it... (sigh).

Sod that that. Go here... https://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us ..and download a "standard" driver... then DDU your old one first.... https://www.wagnardsoft.com/.... then just install your downloaded driver manually. It just works better, and gives less hassle down the line.
