I've been observing the Western Lines of Scotland Route Add-on, and I've been noticing a lack of suitable rolling stock from the LMS era. So I made this thread to tell you my ideas of suitable rolling stock not just from the LMS era, but also the pre-grouping era. Fortunately, we already have ten Caledonian engines: Class 782 0-6-0T, 4-2-2 No. 123, Class 294 0-6-0, Class 944 4-6-2T, Class 600 0-8-0, Class 812 0-6-0, Class 903 4-6-0, Class 721 4-4-0, Class 439 0-4-4T, Class 191 4-6-0 and you can find them here (https://caledoniaworks.com/). But I was thinking that we deserve MORE. Class 670 0-4-2 Class 179 4-4-0 0-4-4T (Various Classes) Class 908 4-6-0 Class 179/184 4-6-0 Class 72 4-4-0 Class 956 4-6-0 Class 60 4-6-0 Class 300 0-6-0
One of the long-lived 'Jumbo' class 0-6-0 would be a very useful addition to the WLoS route. However, not all the engines shown are really suitable... I very much doubt if any of the (in general not very succesful) ex-Caledonian 4-6-0's worked the Port Road, as until 1939 the Stranraer turntable was 50ft. and could only accomodate 4-4-0's and 0-6-0's. By that time most had been withdrawn... See: http://www.lmssociety.org.uk/presentations/relativeSurvival/relativeSurvival01.shtml
