why do my trains not pick up speed when using electrified lines. For example the Carstairs split, the argle line etc. The locos start off ok then get to about 25 mph then start to slow down. I am using 16mg ram an intel processor. Motherboard is a year old.
    Any help would be appreciated..

The Argyle line is the term given to the commuter services that run through Glasgow Central Low Level.

ronald.balneaves Is this WCML North or Suburban Glasgow? Also what train are you using?

I was aware of that but I did not know if the Argle line was the same one - hence my question

I imagine it's just a typo, I read it as Argyle until just now.

Have you tried running any different electric locos such as the class 91, of if you don't have much installed, perhaps the german BR101?

OP The Class 86 & 87 uses a different type of throttle to other locos. See post 4 and download the pdf therein for instructions on how to drive them.

He's hitting the neutral section just outside of Carstairs.

Actually... scratch that. The neutral sections don't work on WCML North... I was thinking of WCMLoS.

Must just be a case of not used to tap changing.

I reckon he's just mashing the "A" key, putting it into run up, and then it just faults on him due to excess amps.

IIRC the WCMLN doesn't have functioning neutral zones whereas WCML Shap does. Also the 86 doesn't recognise neutral sections whereas the 87 and other locos do.

I know see my post above (#15). Also the AP class 86 does see neutral sections.
