Please tell me i aint dreaming. I have to now purchase a 'new' TSW now yeah?.... From what i have read, it is nothing but a tosh up of the old one. Thanks Dovetail. How can you convince me? I personally think you won't be able to, but i am open to suggestions. I have World of subways 3, which is a very good London underground sim, so don't start with that.
Open ears here, so if anyone can convince me, they are doing very well.

Yes, in order to get new routes/features, you MUST buy TSW 2.

I can’t convince you to buy the game, because it still has its issues. If you wanna be stuck with the current routes with no future updates, then go ahead.

Basically it is 3 routes (2 if you have csx heavy haul already) for less the price of one addon route so you got that. Never understood why it was a big deal, especially since you can take over your old routes or still play them on tsw2020.

Also I believe there is a DTG monster sale going on where the Tsw2 core package costs half.

Edit: pardon me, it is 15% off. But even if you don't want bakerloo and sand patch, it is less for the Köln Aachen route than a separate route addon.
You get access to your old routes, livery designer, scenario planner and all upcoming addons that might interest you.
Essentially see it paying for a route than for an engine upgrade.

I get the feeling you don't want to be convinced and have already made up your mind. If you think £24.99 is a lot of money for three routes (two if you are on PC) then you aren't going to be persuaded.

Do you really have your ears open?

No need to hurry. Buy if you see new content you like a lot. TSW2020 is a good game, you still can play it and it has a fair number of awesome DLC. You may wait with TSW2 till you get a good offer and a nice discount.

You have World of Subways 3.
So you had to buy a third new game for that.
Now you are complaining about having to buy a second TSW.
    The End.

This is false. You do not need to buy TSW2 if you do not want to. TSW2020 still works and has all the same routes it did before TSW2 came out. Going forward all new development will be for TSW2, plus all your old TSW2020 routes come over with you (eventually) except NEC. Paying the $30 for TSW2 doesn't get you much in terms of a platform upgrade, sure, some tweaks here or there, but nothing earth shattering. However it also gets you two new routes that guaranteed you do not have as they are new for TSW2, Bakerloo Line and Koln-Aachen.

No one is forcing you to buy TSW2 if you want to keep playing TSW2020. Buying TSW2 costs $30, less even on sale right now. That's the same cost as a new route...so if you cannot afford TSW2, then you also cannot afford any new routes they would have developed for TSW2020...so why does it matter to you at all?

And, not to be rude, but, oh well. I doubt most folks here really care if you want to buy TSW2 or not, and certainly are going to have little interest in convincing you, especially as you've already made your mind up given the tone of your post. You're obviously not here asking a question, but rather to complain based on your flawed understanding of the situation.

P.S. I'm glad you enjoy World of Subways 3, but it's a game from 2014 that offers only the Circle Line and according to many reports Aerosoft isn't supporting it on Windows 10 and lots of folks can't get it to run properly on it. So a bit apples to oranges comparing it to TSW, don't you think?

For me TSW 2 is a solid move foward. SPG can now be played on console, ICE 3 is showing the game can tolerate higher speed, and bakerloo line....well they said it was the shortest route they worked on yet the hardest one. All this was possible because of the engine upgrade. Here all of the upcoming contents for tsw2. https://live.dovetailgames.com/live/train-sim-world/articles/article/tsw2-roadmap-13-oct . it was stated that due for whatever reason that some contents listed in there might not make to release, but until now no content have been trashed. Dont buy it if you dont want to.

I'll work on the basis that you're playing on PC and already have CSX Heavy Haul.

For the price of admission into TSW 2 you get two new routes that cover gameplay we haven't previously included - the London Underground and high speed in Germany. You also get two creative tools to play with if you fancy designing your own livery or planning out scenarios. There are improvements to gameplay, a marmite-like new UI and immersion controls (if a controller is your cup of tea)

All your routes (apart from North East Corridor, if you have it) will work in TSW 2, and over time will be brought up to the latest spec.

If this doesn't appeal you lose nothing, TSW 2020 will continue as it always has. If it does appeal you're getting 2 routes for the price of one with some bonus features thrown in.

Ultimately, only you can decide whether it's worth the price of admission. Nothing anyone else says will change your mind.

Wish you are right. Right now some of the content is not even at the same level the TSW 1 version is (there are new bugs in the TSW2 version).
