A bunch of them didn't run on the line, specifically the WSR engines never served in the area, I'm pretty certain the same applies to the Class 43. The only one that I know for sure worked on the line's the 31. But you'd need to make new services seeing as it's a bit different from the other types in terms of power. And I kind of doubt the Preserved Collection team have enough manpower to go through and add a brand new layer. Also personally I feel NTP's in a good place as is in terms of services, I think there's other routes that could use work way before it, for example LIRR or Oakville.
We need to get the Class 123, 124 and 128 DMUs along with early Class 141 Pacer DMU. Also a Class 25 might be good. We need the ability to choose a consist from available types in our collection.
Class 123 Transpennine (Former WR) DMU at Manchester Picadilly. Class 124 Transpennine DMU at Hull Paragon. Class 128 Parcels DMU at Manchester Victoria.
I think you should research the line and what ran on it during that era before making suggestions. HSTs, 31s, 20s, 52s and 33s didn’t run on the NTP line.
31s did do Transpennine services but possibly a year or so later. DMUs were the order of the day for these services at this time.
For me I wouldn't mind seeing some different DMUs. Although I believe rare. 104s would be good, and with the case of many being in preservation, recreating the sounds shouldn't prove very difficult. One another thing, the interior of the TVL 101 should be imported to NTP as the 1990s Regional Railways doesn't look right
Even so, they never ran on NTP. You’ll be able to run whatever you like on any route eventually once ‘off the rails’ mode is supported in all routes.
I don’t think there’s much timetable room or performance capacity for any new services in NTP so any new trains would most likely only have scenarios and substitute for existing trains, like the M3 did (for similar reasons I expect) on LIRR, or only add a handful of services as well like the Class 20 on TVL. It may be a case that when a new BR era route comes out that some trains from that might substitute in rather than having a dedicated loco DLC for NTP. Only DTG will know if it’s possible for anything else to be squeezed in. The route crashes a lot for some players. I’m waiting for the Class 52 to come up in a sale on PS4, now that I’m not buying anything new for TSW2 until it works well, so I will have the full set of UK locos in TSW2020 and later for scenario planner use in TSW2, which is where the big promise is for extra stuff in NTP, if it works.
