Hi all, if DTG could add, well as the title says, Can there be a feature to continue after a SPAD. Because many of you have accidentally SPADded in TSW 2 or TSW 2020? So like and comment if you agree please.
Hmm... Interesting. There have been moments where I legit rage because I SPAD'ed, however, I think it adds a bit of realism to the game, but it could possibly be changed.
I really want to see this. It's heartbreaking to throw an hour of driving away because of misjudging the braking curve just once. And after all, we're there to have fun in a simulation, not be made frustrated over a wrong move. I'd like to see restart from last checkpoint returned to the game.
But in real life, this is not the game over Not always, I hope! Need to implement additional "mechanics". I can imagine a whole lot of ramifications for AI, etc. Poor chances.
Matt has talked about that on one of the streams. First of all that's how it is in real life. If you pass a red signal you don't just continue, there is a hell of a lot of things triggered before you can get going again (obviously not possible in the game though). Second, there are technical reasons for it being the way it is. Once you passed the signal, the signaler in the game would not be able to sort of reset and give you a green again, so I don't think anything like that would get implemented. But I did it once and I could just reload the last check point, so I didn't have to drive everything again, just the last couple of minutes.
What happens is (in the UK we have AWS and TPWS) and if TPWS if triggered, yes, Emergency Brake does apply.
I do that all the time and on the Isle of Wight Line the brakes don't work when throttle is on full and I try to brake but I can't.
I think that every driver is taken off duty after SPAD to investigate the reason for missing the red light. So the game should terminate your service as well. You can always go back to the last checkpoint anyway.
If they hope to ever make multiplayer a feature, they'll need to figure out a way to deal with it, though. I can't imagine it being a popular feature if random trolls are able to SPAD and terminate the game for everyone else in the session.
I also think that the TPWS should also work. Furthermore, you should have to press the TPWS button to release the SPAD if you have been given permission.
