As the title suggests, what locomotives would you like to see included in Train Simulator? Their have been some great new inclusions recently, but is there anything you would like to see that never gets a look in, or are their any new locomotives, emu's, dmu's that you feel should have been included ages ago?

It would be great to see this thread brimming with ideas, let's have yours. If you don't ask, you don't get :)

We seem to have most Diesels
71 & 74 Southern Electric locos, An AC electric in the 81-85 series
    Dmu's 104, 108, 123/124 come to mind
    Emu's 305, 308, 309, 312 for GEML, 304, 310 for WCML,
4Bep [410], 4Cep [411], for Kent lines They also worked on the Portsmouth Direct in later years
And a 4 Rep and 4TC for the South Western division

Pedant mode on. Shouldn't this be in the Contents Suggestions thread? Pedant off.

Mk1 slam door EMUs/ DEMUs. also 4SUBs, 4CORs, HAPs, BILs.

It's not a content suggestion as much as an unbridled wish list, all entries welcome, all will be considered :)

    Raven A8 0-6-2T
    Hawksworth 16xx and 94xx Pannier
    Large LMS 2-6-4T tank (Fowler/Fairburn/Stanier)
    SR Mogul N class
BR standard 2 or 3 tank and standard 3 tender engines
Class 41 Warship and class 22 baby Warship
    DMU: class 100, 103, 104, 108, 110, 114, 116, 119, 120, 122, 123, 128 - these would fill a lot of gaps in payware and freeware routes
EMU: Class 304 for the next stage of the South Lancs and Cheshire freeware route, class 310 be good too
    A new class 165/166
A new class 47 in the same vein as the AP class 37, a 31 and 25 would be nice too!
Class 195 DMU thing which runs in the North West
These modern EMU things (class 700 something)!

    For what it's worth:

1). Network SouthEast Class 411 (for CML, BML & PDL).
2). Thameslink Class 700 (for many routes: BML, MML, ECMLS, SLN, CML, L2F).
3). South West Trains Class 707 (for PDL).
4). London Overground Class 710 (for NLL, WCMLS).
    5). New Class 153/155.
    6). New Class 165/166.

Master Key Simulations have been working on a new Class 47, which was mostly complete according to what I recall from their last facebook update. Apparently the same model was used for TSW Northern Trans-Pennine.

Bossman Games are also working on a new Class 60 but is currently on pause awaiting a reference trip (previously called off due to COVID).

I got the impression from something I read on here that the MKS class 47 was unlikely to now come to TS1. A class 60 would be nice indeed but a comprehensive maid of all work class 47 pack would be extremely useful.

Ivor... But you'd need a Merioneth and Llantisilly Railway Traction Company Limited route to go with him.

Why only locomotive? Here's my wishlist.

Many are there already.. but in dire need of an update:
    A decent 87
A decent 47 that's not discontinued or got a silly headboard on it.
    A decent Peak
    A decent Deltic model
    A decent 25
A decent 77 that actually drives like one.

Stuff not already available (so far as I know - please correct me if wrong):
    Class 104
    CAFs (195 and 331)
    Class 700
    Class 42 Warship
    Class 23 Baby Deltic
    Class 53 Falcon
    D0260 "Lion".
    Class 81, 82, 83, 84 and 85
    LMS 10000,10001
A proper Nova3 Mk5 set of coaches and DVT that's not based on the Adelante

    That'll do for now :)

The Class 53 Falcon was available from Iron Horse House, but no longer. DTG may well have it in the vault.

Is there a Class 373 Eurostar available? I have been playing with one in Transport Fever 2 but this train could be done in several liveries to boot.

    GNER White Rose
    Eurostar 1990's
Eurostar 2000's (the one with the "Snale" E)
    Eurostar 2013+
    IZY
    TGV Fronts

Hope that would be helpful and if you were to make any AI Tube Stock for the WCML South. Some 1972a Bakerloo Tube Stock would be a nice filler as AI unless you made a driveable version. I will leave those ideas to you mate. Meanwhile I am going to enjoy your HST upgrade pack.

I had forgot IHH had made Falcon, it was one I never got round to purchasing. It would be good to see Falcon re-released or released as it could just sneak into the Riviera in the 50's period at a pinch.

The class 104 DMU seems quite popular (hint, hint DTG or anyone) I have seen it mentioned here and there several times now. Would be a very useful unit and very characterful too, plus there are several preserved examples.

The class 42 Warship is part of the diesel hydraulics pack with the Hymek and Western.

A 373 is being made by Atlantic High Speed along with an Ashford - Lille Route
It is the same person who made the LGV Paris Montparnasse to St-Pierre-des-Corps and TGV
    https://www.justtrains.net/product/atlantic-high-speed-route-and-tgv-atlantique-train

Just Trains were releasing the route but it is not shown on the Developments page
    https://www.facebook.com/Atlantic-HIGH-SPEED-253692294779927/

However - the Paris Montparnasse to St-Pierre-des-Corps used a version of TVM that the DTG TGV would not read and v.v
If they use the same TVM then the Eurostar would not read the signals on St Pancras - Ebbsfleet or Lyon - Marseille LGV routes

Sorry... that was a typo.. I meant to type 41 Warship, sorry. However, it has reminded me to put that on my wishlist, as I'd also like a 35.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. DTG should update and re-release the IHH catalogue. Probably copyright issues though.

I think that must have been before my time. I've only used TS since 2018. That's a shame. I hope it sees the light of day again.

Not to mention probably quite easy to model. Characterful of not, it does look like it was designed on an Etch-a-Sketch :)

True, but for the same price you get the Western Hydraulics Pack to get the Hymek, and you also get the 52 and 42 with it. Is it much better than the one in the Western Hydraulic pack or something?

Silly me, I forgot the Hydraulics pack and I've got it. There's some nice 52 reskins at Vulcan and IIFC 42 reskins at DPS.
The 35 is the old one, still good IMO.

Yes I guess if you can model then it looks fairly simple. You could liaise it with the AP soundpack I suspect. I think the 117 would be most suitable as the 104's seem to have quite raspy exhausts.

DTG should have the class 22 in their library as it was part of the IHH collection. For some reason a lot of the back catalogue hasn't seen the light of day. They did put his 4mt on the market place at one point with no scenarios, I don't see why they can't do that with some of the other items if they don't want to release them as full DLC.

I'd just like to sprinkle a little North American steam into this thread real quick

For the longest time I've been wanting to see some more "generic" American steamers get added to train simulator. The USRA 2-8-2 to be exact (I know Britkits did one a long time ago, but I'd like to see an official version). Throw in a few livery variants and headlight placements for the loco, or maybe a couple of different whistle combos and it would be a perfect add-on in my opinion.

I also think some Canadian steam would be a welcome addition. Maybe something like a CP Royal Hudson, or a CN Bullet Nose Betty (a streamlined 4-8-2 for anyone wondering), preferably a class of engine that has operated post-steam era so scenarios could be made on pre-existing routes.

Yes lol I agree. They would be ideal for the Withered Arm available on the recreating Britains lost routes site.

This would be wonderful to see, even better if it ran over the Monsal trail through to Matlock and onto the MML DNL route.

    If done by AP.
Also a decent Schools, (I know there is one out there but it's not A1).

Add to that a Horwich Crab, the most powerful British 2-6-0 Mogul.

AP standards would be fine, I'm not fussed about who the 3rd party provider is so long as standards are very high.

Didn't notice that there are no crabs in TS.

There is a freeware Crab I think on UKTS but it is old. I have seen mention of a Crab on the Caledonian works Facebook page, he seems to have recorded the sounds of one a couple of years ago for another engine and has teased some images of a LMS engine which most people seem to think is a Crab. So there might be one in the works at some point.

Just a quick bump - if you want to see something in Train Simulator and you don't think it's ever going to be included, please let me know what you have in mind here.

I've seen that but the reviews on it aren't that good, with many of the reviews saying it doesn't work properly...

It would be nice to have a proper version that was custom built but then again I can't get the Scotrail 47/7's from Backdated Trainsim as I haven't got & can't get the 1st gen Virgin pack...!!!

    Oh well...
