I just wanna share a very cool railway system form Hong Kong which is ten light rail. Light rail are serving the northwestern New Territories, Hong Kong ,within Tuen Mun District and Yuen Long District. The system operates over 1,435 mm standard-gauge track. The Light rail have 68 stations , 12 Routes , 5 Type of train model , Top speed can go 70km/h Or you may just watch this Wiki page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light_Rail_(MTR)
Any system in Hong Kong that was around before the handover from Britain to China 1997 should be incredibly accessible for research compared to other locations in Asia. There's lots of English resources. Australians may recognise the similarities in the rolling stock design to Melbourne's Z Class tram, that is no coincidence as it was designed and made by Australia's Commonwealth Engineering (Comeng) in Melbourne. The system is 38km total of interconnecting routes. Although it may look like a tram route, it is a true light rail system and it does not share any of its route with road traffic.
Very cool route. Would love to see more unique, more diverse routes in TSW 2. They could make one of the "lines" on this route.
Biggest problem with Hong Kong is probably going to be the DEM data for terrain. I've had a couple of attempts at doing the classic tram route(s) in Trainz and even the latest NASA 30m data is useless as it's reading the tall buildings and averaging them into hills which aren't there in reality.
