At present, DTG has no plan for long routes. What's the difference between making a new route like 40 miles and extending 40 miles?
Making a new route would bring something new to the game, extending an existing route would bring more of the same.
I agree with Purno, however, some routes are shorter when compared to real life. For example, the East Coastway in the game has 30 - 40 miles of driving which takes approx. 35 minutes to complete but the whole routes that southern trains cover are around 2000 miles. I want a good quality route where I can drive for a good hour or so(70 - 80 miles of uniqueness), and there is also a lot of train traffic. I know this is a lot to ask but this is a suggestion forum.
I think ECW is the perfect candite for an extension, maybe all the way to Ore or even to London Victoria. Still I hope for RRO and RSN to be combined togheter
Yeah, London Victoria would be AMAZING! It would also have lots of buildings and urban scenery which would make the route more diverse(in terms of scenery).
Oh I wasn't voicing my opinion. I was merely saying what I've been hearing DTG say in their streams, although the wording may be a tad different. It is, AFAIK, why DTG isn't extending routes at this point.
Yes, but selling an extension as a new route surely is adding something new to the game? Continuing like this we are never going to have a proper IC route...
The extension of the line is for the integrity of the line. DTG can fully meet two requirements, even if the extended route and new route plan to meet different players' fun.
Unless the extended part features a whole different experience (landscape/trains/signalling/etc) than the part already made, then no. A route extension would barely offer anything new. Indeed. Though I guess it'll just be a matter of time. Within a few years we may actually have a considerable amount of content available, with lots of variety and diversity. That could be the time when an IC route would really offer something new, and route extensions may be an interesting thing to make. But currently, there's still lots of potential new routes to be made which would offer more variety than extending an exisiting one.
I know a lot of players who want to make more connections to different worlds. And I hope DTG extends the existing circuit, for my personal experience of a longer circuit is true. If I go to experience different scenery in the world, Then I can search these places in the computer
