Hi Railfans. I'm having trouble understanding the billing of the Static maps api. I get that you need to set up a billing account for it to work. But will it cost me if I don't use the free 200$ credit ? Will it charge me when I request a key?
Google says: 'For most of our users, the $200 monthly credit is enough to support their needs. You can also set daily quotas to protect against unexpected increases.' I have used this for route building most days since they introduced charging and never had to pay. They send a $0.00 invoice every month.
The 200USD a month is enough to make 100,000 requests. So if you make over 100,000 requests to the api in a month then you will start getting charged.
Hi pgdlrailworksl, how much quota of Google Map static api you have in one day of using to build a route. I only want this to put the track on a 100km of a 250Km route that I starting at 8 years ago. Thanks.
