Great job! On a side note it still annoys the crap outta me that we can’t change anything about the number board boards.
Couple of weathered boxcars I worked on today. Took far longer than it should have but the game crashed 4 times while creating them
Virginia Railway Express 72 stock i made I AM STILL WAITING FOR THE PRESERVED COLLECTION LIVERY DESIGNER AND COUSTOM FORMATIONS THEN I CAN MAKE THE REAL THING WITH A MP36PH-2C AND GALLERY CARS
Yeah, but they still did have some. Most of the picture I could find of the AC4400 with this scheme are all older or the paint is heavly worn down.
A little something for our friends south of the border. Green needs a little fix. EDIT Much Better. (Still need to apply color to lettering)
After the big crash where I lost all my liveries, still don't know why. Here's a couple of my new CR/NS repaints and Conrail.
Its a long time sice my last post butt Today i Got 4 new Repaints for You. National Express: Abellio: RRX: Süwex: Im Also Working on my first DB BR 423 Livery From Stuttgart
Since I did the AC4400CW, decided to also do a Ferromex SD40-2, thanks to the HSV color codes, the colors match the AC44 version. Also did my own version of a Canadian National SD40-2, with the ex Illinois Central Patch
sorry about the insane amount of screenies but i wanted to show it off, also over the course of 3 livestreams on youtube i completed it lol
Templates? You mean the liveries that have been made? Those can only be obtained on PC and only some of them.
Ok, so by looking at all these awesome liveries, I thought I’d make one myself. Well, it’s currently a WIP, so it’s not finished yet, but I’ve started work on a BNSF Railway SD40-2 rebuilt unit, with the new H3 logo. As u may notice, there’s no logo on it, so I would like to ask if anyone can tell me how to make the logo (I am new to this livery designer overall), in terms of what shapes to use and the degree they should be rotated, sheared, etc. Much thanks to anyone that can help!
Btw, I think I got the road numbers wrong for this loco, so I might also fix that. But I really wish we could edit the number boards to spawn with certain numbers in game, in sync with the paint.
The only real advice that I can give when it comes to making the logos is to look up reference pictures and eyeball it. I play on xbox, so when doing a logo, I'll have a picture of the logo on my laptop next to me. Also using reference points on locomotives can help too.
Looking at your livery there's a couple of things I would consider doing. You seem to have a weird "clash" between the orange and grey colours. I am not sure what you chose as a base colour, but I would probably go with orange on this one. You put a big black block on the upper hood section, another on the bottom, add yellow stripes. You can also do a shape in yellow, copy it, move it a bit lower, change to black and create the yellow stripe this way (might be easier on the front). The "stretch", "shear" and "projection" tools are your best friend. With projection cranked up to 100 % in both aspects you can easily have both sides painted the same way with the basic layers. Do NOT try to paint railings at this point. IIRC, the H3 version uses the "swoosh" logo. Do it on one side, for the triangle I'd take a right angle triangle, stretch and shear it a bit. For letters - shear them a bit and maybe put some over each other, move them a bit to the sides, use smaller ones, all to create a "thicker" letter. If you put the first letter in and shear it, create other letters from a copy of this one (you can change the letter and it will keep the shear parameter - all letters will have the same cursive). Definitely do them in yellow, THEN copy the individual letters (grouped shapes) and shrink a bit to create the smaller inner black letter. Then group the whole logo, copy it to the other side and front. That should do it. Railings last - low projection depth to only paint it and not the wall behind it, max projection angle to paint the railing from all sides. Some minor tips: -take colour codes from photos, blueprints, etc. -the yellow stripe on the hood seems a bit too thick -always keep an eye on your number of layers, you can't make the swoosh logo with 100 layers as you wouldn't be able to copy it two more times, layers are like a resource in this -keep aside ca 20 layers for signs, the loco looks so much more believable with some safety signs on hood doors etc. They don't have to be super accurate, but they add a whole lot to the livery as a whole That should do it for my tips, good luck with it!
Ok well thanks for the tips, I’ll post the livery version 2.0 on here in a couple of days, it’ll take some time!
So with the Oakville Sub out I add GO to the mix. I'm going to fix the logo and add some items I forgot. zawal.belili - They have the line from Oakville ON to Hamilton ON out now, its awesome you can drive through Bayview Junction!
I Do have an VTEC / LNER HST livery on the ICE BR 406 and I would upload the image but apparently the image file is too large when its 4k screenshot from xbox..
Fixed the GO unit and also painted a Southern Ontario Rail link GP38-2. They are a shortline that uses the yard in Hamilton.
(3rd attempt to upload this...so here is to the 3rd time lucky) YAY!!!! cropping the image worked!! I present to you.. THE LNER, (VIRGIN TRAINS) HST Livery! Some issues are still there, the flick on the loco was and still is an ass to get right . So I have decided to ignore it and the logo is wrong but here is the Livery on BR 406 ICE. I really hope they make the HST from Great Western Express available in Livery designer cause this is going to be the first one I do.
Alright...you've all got a Canada theme going and in keeping with it, BC Rail both old and new as well as a VIA talent.
As November is the arrival month of the Next gen console's, Here is a celebratory ICE BR 406 In Xbox livery XD
