Hi everybody For some unknown reason my in game settings have messed up and i cannot change any thing even the contrast button has gone missing so you can imagine what a scenario looks like floating sleepers etc,so i was wondering if anybody in the community could give me some advice Thanks
Verify the game files from Steam. That usually sorts it. IN future, I recommend backing up your Railworks folder (assuming everything is working) so if anything goes pear shaped, you can just dump everything back on there.
Look in Settings to see if something there has changed. Has it changed from Expert to Simple mode A file verify is a bit drastic
Thanks to you all for your replies,i have done everything what has been said and unfortunately nothing has changed one thing though the frame rates have gone up,i have contacted support regarding the issue i have maybe they will have a solution who knows..
The background Fix for when you think that you have corrupted your Monitor Resolution Settings or Have different resolution settings in MS Windows NATIVE/default resolution settings to those in TS 2020. LCD Monitors work best at their NATIVE resolution. Find yours from the manufacturer of your monitor. https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/14216/windows-7-getting-best-display-on-your-monitor Try this: Close TS and Steam and navigate to \STEAM\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Content and delete/rename the playerprofiles.bin file. Restart Steam and then TS 2020 allowing the latter to rebuild the graphics/monitor settings file. If this works and TS 2020 opens, then reset your graphics/monitor settings within TS 2020. Keep the resolution in TS2020 the same as the default windows setting. NB Verifying the game files will NOT fix a playerprofiles.bin issue!
I'm not sure how that can actually make him have items missing from menus. At best all that would do was make his image a bit soft and blurry, or at worst give him a black screen.
You would be amazed! Anyway isn't it worth a try -it will do no harm and may solve the issue - who knows? What is your answer trying to prove - its not helping the OP, merely questioning my suggestion!! I thought that this forum was about helping fellow simmers, not commenting on those trying to help!
Hi Would like to say a big thanks to Peter Hayes every think is back on track now followed your instructions and hey presto up and running, thanks once again.
Many thanks I've been struggling to get into Railworks for days and this was the answer (setting for monitor has solved it)
