I been toying with buying a new route and there several i don't have yet,i have all but the latest german route(the recycled ice3 and 423)don't excite me,plus 4 UK routes, but i like frieght routes i have sand patch grade and peninsula corridor(which has only mini frieght options)but with the loss of NEC i'm looking for a extra frieght route so does the CNOS a good option,i know in the past it had issuses but has the route improved any since then?

I think it's worthwhile if you like North American freight IMO. It can feel a little bit dead, though, and is much shorter than Sandpatch and Penn Corridor.

Since DLC for preserved collection is obviously a thing, it would REALLY benefit from some additional traffic. Nothing on the roadmap yet though.

I am considering it now because with the off the rail mode it opens the door to have other trains visit canada and CN visit the other routes plus cnos can have a passenger train on it with the off the rails mode.

Yeah actually made a quick scenario using some of the CSX trains, which was kinda neat, but i get frustrated with the limited function of the scenario editor. They've said it's a work in progress, though, so hopefully it will get better over time.

Someone on the PC forum came up with a passenger service using the MP36 from Penn Corridor IIRC. Really wish they could implement sharing on console, because i'd love to play it!

Yes it's worth it. Super fun line and many manual switches so for scenario mode you can have passenger and freight. I clustered a bunch of freight in Hamilton so you can connect up to make a seriously massive train. I made GO and VIA Talent units for passenger service and bc rail and southern ontario rail link for freights. The only bad thing is the passenger stations all have stub tracks yet it won't let us use them. Bayview JCT is awesome to drive through too! Also Canadian signals are quite different from the US ones so they are fun to learn. d392f731-ad0a-4c43-a481-3c2519d069cb.jpeg 82e1627b-bb13-48a0-a17e-9b269db21fbe.jpeg a4166db1-e076-465d-bde3-004d4d01eb0f.jpeg 10917d74-f10f-493d-99a7-6119ada18098.jpeg

It was pretty easy to make, I can try and make a clip showing the parts if you'd like. It takes about 30 minutes to make.

I have enjoyed it. A plus for me,
I live somewhat near the route (Detroit area. Have been past the cities visiting Toronto).

If you like American freight and short switching runs I'd say go for it, maybe wait for a sale. If you like longer main line runs you will probably be disappointed.

I'd say overall the route is a letdown as it was very misleading as to what the route would include before it was released. It also seriously needs more scenarios, even as is there is a lot of untapped potential.

If you’re into freight it’s a good time. The route is also very nice to look at scenery and rolling stock combined

I really like this route, even though I consider it to be somewhat unfinished. The activities are quite varied, including the challenging propane loading service. No major bugs. Nice locomotives and rolling stock. Go for it.
