In Reallife you can go by ICE3 Duisburg-Bochum via Mülheim (Ruhr) and Essen and vice versa, I hope ICE3 will be added at "Hauptstrecke Rhein Ruhr".
There's actually a path for ICE services that does this in the scenario planner. I do agree though, extra timetable services for the ICE would be a great addition to the route
A new timetable for RRO is being prepared. Maybe HRR will get it too? I think it's likely now that the 'preserved team' is getting bored
