I'd want both. Maybe DTG could add the SD45 and U36C in a loco DLC pack together, along with a couple other freight cars for the route.
That would be a great idea, I doubt DTG would release both dlc separately so maybe a loco pack could be a good move for them.
Well, I wouldn't mind both of them as an add-on. But to my thought on this is, why the "one or the other" poll? Just asking. (Plus, no offense, it's EMD)
I'm torn. I like the U36C better as a locomotive, but the SD45 would be more prototupical. The CRR only owned a handful of U36Cs but owned a bunch of SD45s. Honestly I would have rather seen the SD45 come with the route rather than the SD40-2, and had the U36C as an add-on. However I understand the pandemic has made this difficult, and as such, the U36C is more likely to be added because they already have the research for it from when they made it for TS.
Im gonna assume we are talking about the SD45-2 and not the SD45? The Clinchfield had 18 Dash 2s new, while they traded think 6 SD45s from the SCL for their own U36Cs.
Indeed. 7 of the SD45s were from SCL. Traded them for the U36Cs. Then transferred to SBD. This site really helps out with researching CRR Diesels. Just saying
I'd definitely want the U36C as an add-on. I would have rather had it come with the game (come on, the most amount of trains we've seen in a route is 3), but that's another story. As for the loco, it's more unique than the SD45/-2. We don't have any older GE stuff in the game right now, so it would be much better that another SD- or GP- loco.
Yea that is true, and DTG already has the reference material from TS to make the U36C, and during COVID it’ll be tough to get the sound recordings and design from an SD45, so it may be more likely that the GE comes first, if not the only dlc for the route. I think someone else already mentioned this on this thread but I guess I’m just restating this.
I’m hoping this spring the virus will ease up from the planned vaccine so they can get some recordings! Then we can get some new routes that weren’t already in TS Classic. And we might get better recordings for existing routes too.
