Plugins

    The plug-in of 3ds MAX supplied don't work with neither 2017 nor 2018.
    Am I bound forever to use 2016 until my license expires?

    Please recompile a new one.

    In my folders, the plugins supplied only go up to 2015. I didn't think they worked with other versions, so not sure how you got Max 2016 to work! And since there have been no new versions since 2015, I would guess it very unlikely that there ever will be now.

    I am using MAX16 and everythings works fine.
    I gave plugins to my brother with MAX17 and the plugin did not worked.
    Then he told me, that every year the AutoDesk engineers changes something internally in the MAX so old stuffs go out.
    The main concern is in some years MAX16 support will be taken back by AutoDesk and also I personally find difficult to use Blender.

    Probably if they makes fbx as default intermediate geometry, there will be no need for making and compiling a new plugin for new version of Max.
    However I see TANE have made FBX as default exporter, DTG can also do it.
