Playing around with this trying to set up a Class 45 hauled service from Darlington to Saltburn. Going quite well but one thing I can't seem to get is for the station stops to actually appear as Passenger Stops. I have Passenger mode enabled on the Player train but all I'm getting is the "stop and go" when I reach the location. I've referred to Rudolf's excellent guide but this issue doesn't seem to be covered. Any help appreciated please.
Thanks for your compliment. My guide is from the date before NTP. It may be a bug. I will check and see if it is ...
I have the same issue. When using the scenario planner on TVL it doesn't seem to include passenger stops even when passenger mode is selected. It did definitely work when TVL first came out in TSW2 but it seems to have become broken since.
Same happened to me on ECW, could not pick up passengers at any major station. Some consists were also flipped for no reason, so outside Lewes, Class 47 was backing up against me on the other track. Weird bugs in this game.
Interesting... Not sure if it's a consist or route issue then. I'll try a scenario with the 45 on the Thames Valley tomorrow and see what happens if I use the 33 (from West Somerset) for a passenger run on Tees Valley. Sounds as if it might have to be submitted as a bug though.
I checked, with the class 45 the passenger stops are NOT generated, though the datafile looks OK, but you can see in the schedule the passenger stops are not there. If I use the class 31 everything works fine. OldVern can you create an issue for this in the Tech support section?
On a slightly different tack, I have found a couple of scenarios I tried setting up - a Class 52 then Class 33 hauled train ex Manchester Victoria and a Class 33 hauled train out of Paddington have been unplayable because the first signal is stuck at red. Using the contact signaller dialogue generates no response, not even proceed at restricted speed. If you try and pass the signal, scenario just ends with the SPAD message. Is there something I'm not doing or is this another known issue? Actually I wonder if it could be tied to both these routes being "preserved" ones?
This is a known issue. https://live.dovetailgames.com/live/train-sim-world/articles/article/tsw2-roadmap-10-november
Hi Vern. A work around until they fix the reds problem that I have found is to tick the last stop before the 'end station'. i.e.On the GWE, Paddington to Reading tick Twyford as a stop. You can still have intermediaries such as Slough and it works with ai. Not perfect but makes it usable until the fix. It seems to work on all of the routes where the red is a problem. clive (aka casperdog) yes, i've gone to the dark side for a while
I had the red signal problem on the Tees Valley last night. Tried to set up a steel train from Platform 4 at Darlington to Lackenby but couldn't get past a ground signal which was on. Also, I've noticed the game doesn't want to recognise Redcar ore terminal as a destination. If selected as an end point the map doesn't show the route. Funny goings on with trains spawning the wrong way round too. I set up a 31 hauled train to run from Grangetown to Redcar Central, just as passing traffic. When I got to Redcar, travelling towards Middlesbrough, it was sat in the other platform facing the wrong way! It'll be great when they sort it all out but it's a bit of a mess at the moment. I have to admit, I prefer the lack of station loading times, it's much more realistic not having that thing telling you to open the doors etc. The passengers opened their own doors in those days, the driver had no control over them. It's great to just stop and listen to your 47 ticking over for as long as you like and no doors opening and closing in unison. It looks ridiculous.
