The Banking Comm in the C40-8W in SPG has no way of turning it on. Hovering over where it is turned on in other locos results in no clickable areas. Helper locos therefore do not respond to control inputs in the lead loco. This will make a large number of the services for this loco unplayable.
Just in case people didn’t see the live stream earlier, DTG are aware that the banking comm doesn’t work and will be looking into it. The EOT device doesn’t operate either and that’s also being looked into too. Hopefully a really easy fix and the update can come pretty soon.
Hopefully they resolve this soon, although it's strange that an important feature is missing off a release. Are deadlines so tight that things have to be missed off?
That's good to know. Thanks for sharing! I don't know what they said in the stream but my feeling is that there was no plan to implement it on launch. I have only played the training and two scenarios so far and none of them have DPUs. Do any of the new Dash 8 services have DPUs?
Another new semi tested release figures.(If you watched the stream sam said they don't announced release dates until close to release because they want to work on new dlc until the last moment.Really?)
It's not that hard if you know how to set up the locos. Breblimator has a guide to DPU set-up in his signature I believe. There is a logic to it so once you've grasped that, it's intuitive. Tackling the grade is good fun though. Even if you don't like American freight I'd still recommend trying it out so you get a feeling for these extremely heavy trains.
Another thing I noticed is that the window can’t be opened from the outside and the controls can’t be operated through the window, so there will be a barrier in the way of that and it may be that a similar misplaced barrier is blocking the cursor from clicking the switch on the banking comm. Purely a guess, I don’t know exactly how these collision occlusion barrier thingies work with cursors.
I haven't had a chance to try out this loco yet. Isn't there perhaps a radio fuse or circuit breaker that needs to be closed? I seem to remember this from other locomotives.
There is an unclickable radio fuse too. So both the controls you need for the banking comm and EOT device to function cannot be clicked at all.
Then it seems that the loco wasn't tested in a DPU format. Why not? As someone asked before, are there no such scenarios or services?, But it can't be integrated with existing services as was claimed, I guess. If you're right, and I'm sure you are, this needs an urgent patch. Has anyone tried this on PC? Just a thought.
Matt was surprised to find that out on the stream it was not working, that he would pass it on the team to find out why.
