however there may be a problem, if you used say useless shape 24 on one wagon before overwriting there may be some problems
Definitely. If you could replace with something, there's no doubt it would go back and nuke previous liveries you used that shape on.
When the Dash 8 came out, I had an irresistible urge to create many variants of the GECX C40-8W. Here are some of several repaints that I made which are in YN3 and YN3B paint.
I'm very satisfied with the used look of the Dash 8 and it's easier to get her started. It also works without IFD. Just finished my CN version for Oakville Subdivision.
Thank you! Now the only problem I am having is trying to get at least one of the engines to automatically spawn on a service without me having to select one when driving a service.
Thank you! I really wish these would at least spawn on services automatically and more frequently, but I barely even see at least one of the repaints in service mode.
Thanks, used a circle and square for outside of Q, pasted that on both sides then made the can opener logo with stripes and outlined with blue so when I dropped it into Q it worked great.
For the leaf, One triangle pointing up. Then take the square with the notch in it and put 3 of them on the triangle, 2 at 45⁰ and one straight up. Then take your triangle and copy it 3 times and squeeze it so it's long and place those inside the notches. Then finish it with a letter I for the stem.
I want an option that lets you choose how often liveries spawn. Railcar liveries spawn to often for my taste, and locos don't spawn often enough.
They should also have an option where the game will allow a specific livery to show up only one time in the game. That way, you can have heritage units and other special rail car repaints and there will not be any duplicates with the same special paint.
Or just have a couple of selections for them in the livery editor. Something like "one of a kind/rare/uncommon/common/frequent/all". This could then refer to something like "max. 1 appearance in a service"/5% chance/25%/50%/75%/100%.
Love all your paint jobs, just wandered if you leave the handrails like that on purpose or your not sure how to cover up your body paint? Just in case, place a block over area on rails that have body bleed over, make it your new color, use projection setting lower slider move almost clear to left until it covers, Hope this helps anybody that didn't know.
For my repaints, I would sometimes darken the locomotive body color and move the slider so that it has a small bit of brown in it to represent the dirt. I also use the shapes at the bottom of the menu (the ones that look like tearing marks or smears) and would make turbo burn marks out of them. I used to use gradient shapes, but they always look weird in the game outside of the livery editor. Even adding slightly lighter color shapes on the sides or the doors of locomotives (AC4400CW for example) can give the effect of replacement doors or other parts.
Nah had no clue how to make my handrails not look stupid! I'm going to go try that out and see if I can fix them.
here's a visual for you. photo 1 design bleed over rail, photo 2 add block to cover bleed over, photo 3 change color to your desire, photo 4 move bottom slider in projection slowly until bleed is gone, photo 5 finished rail. this works for front and back also.
Don't forget to max the projection angle, so the colour wraps around the railing from all sides. Otherwise, there are remnants of the layers on the sides of the railings.
This was one of the main reasons why I was excited for the Dash 8. Conrail is my favorite railroad of all time and I knew I was going to immediately make a Conrail livery once the dash 8 came out.
S Sounds like I have a brother, #1 fan of Conrail, love the early years. Conrail was my first livery also.
I love the later years of Conrail (mostly because I remember it when I was really little). My favorite locomotive is the SD80MAC and I love the Leslie horns that Conrail used. It's a shame that everything from the Conrail era is disappearing.
That looks great!! That is the first thing I'm going to do with the Dash 8 once I get it (I'm waiting for Christmas hoping it will be on sale). Conrail isn't my number once favorite, but definitely in the top 5, though I have a friend who loves Conrail. The second livery I made was a Conrail SD40-2. I prefer the later years too. My favorite CR locos are the SD80MACs. Imagine a Conrail ET44AC or SD70ACe-T4!
