Crossrail (not keen on the unnecessary Elizabeth Line title) would be great but needs to await its opening first. Only trouble is that Paddington to Reading would need to be effectively duplicated to current layouts.

That could be cool, though. I actually rather like the idea of having the same route in TSW, represented in two quite different eras! Perhaps with the improvements to route-building experimented on in LGV, a new GWE route could also be extended slightly further, say to Oxford.

An updated GWE would include the Class 345 for Crossrail and the Class 800 for high-speed--in keeping with DTG's current trend of including one high speed train and one commuter train (and one freight, where available)--with a touched-up Class 66 (bringing TSW2 functionalities) for freight. The Class 387 could be considered for loco DLC at a later time.

I’m in between on the Elizabeth and Overground. On one hand, Crossrail is nice with some great rolling stock, but on the other, you have a busy, frequent stopping. commuter railroad.

Ehh, I doubt they'd be able to get the Heathrow Branch. They already have Paddington - Reading so all that needs to be done is the second portion and electrifying the Great Western Line.

The London Overground Watford DC Line would be a sensible route to start as the first overground route since a lot of the route is techincally in the game on the bakerloo line

The 710s and 378s make the 1972 tube stock look so puny

Yep. I think that’s because of the platform height though. The Class 378/710 are at platform level while the 72 Stock is below platform level.

Not to mention that the 72 stock is 9 feet tall while the 378 and the 710 is 12 feet 4 inches tall

That’s cuz the Overground stock are basically National Rail trains. The 72 stock is made to fit in those small tubes.

watford could be easy because they did it in WCML South (which was a bit of a failure)

Erm... Overground has at most 12 trains per hour on any given section (not including freight), Crossrail1 / Lizzie Line / whatever will have 24 trains per hour in the central core section, with termini at Heathrow, Maidenhead and Reading in the West, Paddington in the Western Core, Abbey Wood, Gidea Park and Shenfield in the East and weekday peak services from Shenfield and Gidea Park to Liverpool Street
    So less busy?

I think they should do the line from Liverpool Street to Enfield Town (with the branches there)
