Might pick up IoW and a couple of others for TSW2 as a treat to myself.

 

I’ve already got that, but big discounts on the Class 52 and Oakville so I am indeed happy. With these two I can have plenty to keep me occupied until TSW2 improves. I’ll probably use them in TSW2020 to start with. I might not get to drive them straight away though. Mrs Stujoy has a couple of days off work and has just bought a couple of games. When this happens she does tend to hog the PS4 somewhat. She can get up in the morning and sit there playing for the whole day demanding I make her endless cups of tea. An Assassins Creed session led to a takeaway evening meal last night. She was still playing when I went to bed. I didn’t get to drive any trains.

 

The Deluxe Edition is also on sale with a 35% discount. But the retail collectors edition was still a better deal for me.
With the the money saved I'm going to buy the BR 182 which has a huge discount now.

 

Out of interest how much did they drop the IOW to?

Agreed, I was waiting for a sale, but to be honest at this point, I'm not interested even at the sale price until performance and layers are sorted for console.

 

Yes, I briefly looked at it, and it was still a firm ‘no’ from me. I just bought two things Incan use in TSW2020, including Oakville, which shows how bad things have got. How that route ever got to the top of my list of potential sale purchases, I’ll never know. But there it was, in the sale, and as no new TSW2 routes will be getting bought any time soon due to performance issues, I went for it. It should have been HMA but not until it works.

Hopefully the patient folks over on xbox get their sale too.

 

Hmm. Do I buy Oakville for £14.99? I’m not a huge fan on freight. I think I’ll give it a miss.

 

I bought it way back when it released. Despite being a huge fan of North American freight I‘d still not recommend it. It‘s this weird mix that tried to be switching focused but for some reason has mainly mainline services. Honestly, I think DTG was trying to give us a SPG-like route on console while bringing something new for PC and we ended up with this route that appears to suffer an identity crisis.

 

I agree with all of this. I really want to like HMA and I would like to get it, but as long as long as we don‘t have layers on consoles and the performance is as terrible as people describe, I just can‘t get myself to buy it. I know DTG is working on performance and it will take time but I‘m sure I‘m not only one in whose mouth a bitter taste was left after HMA‘s release.
I‘ll stop my rant now though Don‘t want to derail this thread any more than I have already.

I would personally recommend HMA layers or not. The 423 is very fun to drive and sounds great.

Did the same. Originally I wanted to buy heavy freight and/or tees valley, but I'll pick them up when they are on the next sale.
Couldn't convince myself to buy the BR 204 for MSB yet... What do you think? Is it worth buying?

 

I picked up RRO and HMA, despite the lack of layers on HMA I still picked it up, with the hope it runs better on the PS5 than the PS4

Yes very pleased. I managed to get the last of the two things I wanted from TSW2020 for TSW2.

 

HMA runs between 59-61fps on series s, little dips in munchen here n there.

I know this is PS section, just thought itt would help

 

Well, having spent a few hours with both last night, there's no doubt that RRO runs better than HMA.
With HMA the framerate reminds me more of the PS4 Pro, it's a step up from the Pro but it doesn't have that real smooth 60FPS look to it, and there's some noticeable pop in, in fact if I didn't know better I'd say RRO was the newer route, it runs beautifully.
Even the older preserved routes like my favourite NTP run much more smoothly, however I know there's a lot more going on in HMA.
It's certainly not unplayable, far from it, it just doesn't have that next gen feel that the other routes have on the PS5.

Hi, I bought wsr with the br 33 in the sale.
I can't complete the tutorial for this train. The game tells me to turn on the the front light (main lamp and signal lamps). But I can't turn the switches for the signal lamps, only the one in the middle. Do I miss something? Really strange. Thanks in advance!

 

I almost got RRO a couple of weeks ago. Thought no wait until black Friday. Still not on sale, almost purchased it and remembered cyber Monday. Glad I did, over eleven pounds saving, but a bit of a pain for you though getting it just two weeks at full price.

 

This bug has just been removed from the roadmap, as DTG allegedly couldn't reproduce it. This probably means we'll have to wait until at least next year before it gets investigated further ... I'm not amused!

 

I had this. The only way I managed to get past it was to wait for every prompt before clicking anything. Don't skip the talking either. Not sure if that is the fix or if I just got lucky

I tried. 3 times, no rushing, waiting for the prompts but no chance... Gonna try it again tomorrow.

 

I've tried it once but had the same issue. When I get home tomorrow I'll give it another try.

 

Another thing to try. When you get to the part that won't let you proceed is, save it and don't do anything else except quit back to where you can load your save. Then reload it. Sometimes strange as it may seem this has helped me more than once to get past a bug. Worth a try it, may help, it is what I always do now if I think a bug is stopping me.

 

Hi, I just gave it another try. This time I was able to switch the signal lamps on. I did everything the tutorial said with the switches of the train and not with the controller buttons. I don't know if this made a difference, but somehow I was able to turn them on finally. Very strange! Thanks for your input!

 

Good, yes that is another thing that often helps, I forgot that get around. My first go to is the save and quit. As long as you managed to show it who is boss, that is the main thing.

 

I don't worry too much about it, because I have all the other German routes, so it's pretty busy train-wise and it gives me the S-Bahn on SKA I was craving for.

My wallet appreciates that I'm more selective with routes from other countries

 

UPDATE: Every single piece of DLC is now in the Playstation sale including Tees Valley and the BR Heavy Freight Pack. Some offers end tonight, some on the 19th January.

I’m assuming the sales everyone is referring to is in the European store? I did see a few sales in the US store but it definitely wasn’t every single DLC.

 

It could be that the US store hasn't updated yet as it isn't midnight.
Also, sometimes sales are regional so not everyone gets the same offers.
Here in the UK we had some on sale for black Friday and then other DLC content was put up which ends midnight 12/22 and some more has been added this morning to end sometime in January.
