Hello, after a bit of documentation, I actually noticed that the S-Bahn lines between Cologne and Düren don't use the DB BR422 as in the game, but the DB BR423. Although we totally can do custom scenarios, it would be great to include them on the actual timetable ! Also DB BR425's can be seen in real life at Aachen Hbf, but don't go on the SKA, they go towards Aachen West so it isn't that big of a deal not to add them.
The 423 used on HMA is a special furnished version for München, that is why they probably did not make it a substitute or standard train for SKA. Personally I could care less about the inside, just for the sake of accuracy visually I would prefer it on SKA over the 422 as well...
Yes! I've been talking about this for a while now and I too was thinking about creating a new thread. Just the usual reminder: Even if we don't have the correct Köln S-Bahn variant it still would be more accurate than the 422, I am OK with a substitution between the BR423 and the 422 so you don't have to recreate the whole layer (even if you would have to do that anyway because half of the timetable services are broken)
Actually substitution would be beneficial for everyone, so people with RRO but without HMA still get to use a layer of S Bahn services, while users with HMA would have a little bit more accuracy and variety, which is always nice I think. How long are the 422 trains? I can't remember on top of my head, but I remember Matt once said for substitution to work the trains would need a similar length. Don't know if in regards to overall length or amount of wagons. The 423 has 4, I know that at least.
I guess the lenght would be similar... at the end they are 2 S-Bahn trains built for the same platform lenght
The question now is, how do we get this vocal enough to get 1. noticed by DTG and 2. Considered as an improvement?
I hope the comments under the roadmap update was noticed, I will try the Stujoy method of mentioning on the roadmap posts until I either get an explanation of why it's impossible or gets added, not being a technical issue I can't send a ticket...
Ok so I went on the Schnellfahrtstrecke Köln Aachen in real life earlier today (I live in Brussels, Belgium so Aachen is around 150 km away from my home) and went to Düren and I filmed and took pictures of this: a DB BR423 at Düren. Now, DTG has a concrete proof of this train type coming to Düren. I hope that, even if the interior isn't matching, they'll put it as a substitute of the DB BR422. (Please note: this was made while social distancing and wearing a face mask.)
Thanks for sharing and for the money and effort you spent going there, hopefully DTG will notice this thread
No problem, I already planned to go there for a while and I took advantage of the fact that I was there and that a BR423 came and was leaving shortly after
Thank you so much for the nice pictures! DTG please make it a substitute train! Also doesn't it hurt seeing a beautiful train covered with graffiti? It is just the small one on the front but we have S-Bahn trains absolutely covered from front to back over the windows occasionally as well...
I'm currently working on a suggestion post to ask for someone in the preservation crew (either a dedicated new addition or someone existing be given time to dedicate themselves) to enhance existing DLC with services that are currently lacking for one reason or another (In the case of the 423 services missing it is because the train wasn't made at the time of SKAs release). I made a list of all the services that could be added to Koln-Aachen and the 423 could be a very significant enhancement to the route. Koln-Aachen (+MSB, +RRO) Unimplemented extra services with currently available stock: -Between Koln and Aachen -- S13 (16 stops) - Class 423 (HMA) - Terminates at Aachen - 2 every hour -Between Koln and Duren -- S19 (12 stops) - Class 423 (HMA) (to substitute) - Exists in current route but fictionally served by DB BR 422 (RRO). -Between Koln and Horrem -- S12 (8 stops) - DB BR 423 (HMA) - Terminates at Horrem - 3 every hour -Between Koln HBF and Koln-Ehrenfeld -- RE 8 (2 stops) - DB BR 425 (HRR) - 1 every hour -- RB 27 (2 stops) - DB BR 143 (RSN) and Dosto (RSN, MSB) - 1 every hour -Depot movements -- Koln Depot -- Duren Depot -- Aachen Depot -Freight movements -- Stolberg (Rheinland) freight yard -- Aachen-Rothe Erde sidings -- Aachen freight yard (Moltkebahnhof) Unimplemented extra services with currently unavailable stock: -Between Koln and Aachen -- Thalys (Paris-Nord to Koln) (2 stops) - Thlays PBKA (TGV POS) - Terminates at Koln - 1 per day -- Thalys (Paris-Nord to Dortmund) (2 stops) - Thlays PBKA (TGV POS) - 2 every day -- FLX 30 (2 stops) - DB BR 182 (Solo DLC) or DB BR 193 (Siemens Vectron), and former Interregio cars or UIC-X cars - Terminates at Aachen - 2 every day -Between Koln and Horrem -- RB 38 (2 stops) - DB BR 644 (Talent) - 1 every hour -Between Aachen and Duren* -- RB 20 (10 stops/7 Stops*) - DB BR 643.2 (Talent) - Terminates at Duren - 1-2 every hour (*From 2009 deviates on a alternate section between Stohlberg (Rhienland) Hbf and Langerwehe)
This would be cool as well as adding the 423 to ska but with ska crashing on the approach to koln hbf with the current layers on console, adding more services would probably make it worse until a solution is developed
Graffiti definitely brings things to life, but the companies (like bombardier and others), wouldn’t want to see their trains depicted in the game with graffiti. Currently, the only way to get graffiti is by being highly skilled with the Livery Designer.
