On two of these I have caught multiple bosses, and more than once doubled on the same boss in the same session. Peg 19 is a gravel bar at 11:00 o'clock about 18 yards out. Peg 15 is across the little bay near a gap in the opposite shore weed line about 10:00 or 11:00 o'clock (only caught one boss there so far). Peg 11 is the bent willow. It's an underhand cast right under the branches of the willow about 10 yards. Caught five or so from there. Hope this helps. No promises, though! Had plenty of dry runs.
Would like to see this populated with more players data. Manor is a very difficult place for boss catching with the boss catch rate very low. Will be good to have as many info as possible
Ok, here is my data from my sessions of what I have been catching, bait used, and where. Please bare in mind that this data is after over 100 hours+ of game play, so don't go expecting to pull boss after boss in a short space of time. My sessions can run from anywhere between 2 - 10 hours. I normally start my sessions at Peg 11, then after a couple hours I move to Peg 7, this seems to work for me. If my sessions start slow (Not biting, no Boss in first hour), then I quit out and reload lake or reload lake in multiplayer. This is not a guide, its just what I have experienced so far, and with the RNG element of this game, your experience may be different. Equipment Rods - Haichou 13ft EX-Camo Rod. Reel - Haichou Specimrn Reel Line - Korda 15 SUBbraid. Peg 7 This peg is my back up, it can be hit and miss, but when its hitting.... its hitting hard! I have spent many sessions starting here and having no luck at all with boss fish..... but I find I have a lot of success with boss fish here, only if I come here after spending a couple hours fishing at another peg first. Don't ask me why, this is just how it is for me most of the time. This peg can be awesome for catfish, I have once caught 9 fish with in a hour on Rod 3, six of them being Cat fish, and 2 of them being Carpark Cat. I also try to come here when its night, always for me feels more active. Rod 1- I tend to use this Rod for targeting Tench/Bream/roach. Spot can be a miss more then a hit at times, but this suits me as I like to have one Rod biting slow (If the other 2 Rods are biting regularly). I haven't had any boss here as of yet. Rod 2 - I always under cast 2-4 yards from bank and let the bait (TNT) drift out, caught many boss fish like this. Rod 3 - Is my favourite spot for Cat fish. I use Tiger Nuts 20 mm for here, and had a lot of success. I tend to cast 16 yards to spot shown in picture or I under cast 10 yards out along side the bank to your right and let bait drift out. I find I am going to be pulling a lot of Cat fish here or only one or two every couple of hours.... its just the luck of the draw I am sorry to say. 3x Carpark Cat - Korda IQ-D Rig 4 - TNT/Tiger Nuts 20mm. I think the spots in picture are where Spankus Munky suggested to fish, and I am already impressed. I fished here just under a hour this morning and already caught 2 boss fish, including The Pin Head Mirror that I had been chasing for the past week (Thanks Munky!!). I will update once I have spent a bit more time fishing here. (Edit) Ok, so I have fished on this peg for 10 or more hours now and can say I have been doing rather well. I caught Shecks near rod 3's location in the gravel, the spot is 33 yards out slightly to the right of Rod 3 spot shown in picture. Here is an update of what boss I have caught. 2x The Unnamed Common - Korda IQ-D Rig 4 - TNT (1x Rod 2, 1x Rod 2) 3x The Pin Head Mirror - Korda IQ-D Rig 4 - TNT/Tiger Nuts 20mm (3x Rod 1) 1x Shecks - Korda DF Rig 6 - Bloodworm (1x Rod 3) 2x Spike - Korda IQ-D Rig 4 - Tiger Nuts 20mm (2x Rod 1) 2x The Hardwick Linear - Korda IQ-D Rig 4 - Tiger Nuts 20mm (2x Rod 1) 1x Two Tone - Korda IQ-D Rig 4 - TNT (1x Rod 2) 1x The Mint Common - Korda IQ-D Rig 4 - TNT (1x Rod 1) 1x Cut Tail - Korda IQ-D Rig 4 - Tiger Nuts 20mm (1x Rod 1) 2x Birthmark Linear - Korda IQ-D Rig 4 - TNT (1x Rod 1, 1x Rod 2) 1x The Pretty One - Korda IQ-D Rig 4 - Tiger Nuts 20mm (1x Rod 1) 1x Justins Fish - Korda Chod Rig 4 - Double Medium Sweetcorn (1x Rod 3) Peg 11 This is the Peg I have spent most of my time on from the start, with Great success. I have fished under the willow tree like people have suggested, but after many hours found it was not working for me, so I gave up on that. On this peg I have mainly used Rod 1 for targeting Roach/Bream/Tench, and I cast out to the left (shown in picture) between 35-40 yards into the weeds. On Rod 1 I tend to catch mostly Tench ranging from 4-9 lbs & Roach ranging from 1-3 lbs (I caught Royal, Garthy & Shecks here) using Bloodworm. Rod 2 spot is my Favourite casting spot on the lake, and I have pulled a lot of boss carp from here. I cast as shown in picture 30-34 yards out into the weeds, and always use TNT as my bait. This spot rarely lets me down, and if it is not biting or I haven't pulled a boss with in 30 catches, I just quit and reload the lake. I mainly catch Carp here, but at times it has been known to be good for Cat fish. If single player is not working out, then I switch to multiplayer and have had great success there as well. Rod 3, I tend to cast out as shown in pictures 40 yards in to a gravel patch, or I stick it under the willow tree. Rod 3 tends to be slow, but I am ok with this as I look at this rod as my ''leave me alone, I am busy with #1 #2'' I have caught a couple of boss fish here, but this spot has been known to me to take a while in-between bites. I always seem to be very busy with Rod 1 & 2, so I don't mind this spot being slow. 3x The Unnamed Common - Korda Chod Rig 4/Blowback Rig 4 - TNT/Active 8 18mm (2x Rod 2, 1x Rod 3) 4x Mr Ridiculous - Korda Chod Rig 4/Blowback Rig 4 - TNT/Active 8 18mm (3x Rod 2, 1x Rod 3) 3x Two Tone - Korda Chod Rig 4 - TNT (3x Rod 2) 3x The Hardwick Linear - Korda Chod Rig 4 - TNT (3x Rod 2) 3x Kemp's Linear - Korda Chod Rig 4/ Blowback Rig 4 - TNT/Active 8 18mm (2x Rod 2, 1x Rod 3) 1x Popeye - Korda Chod Rig 4 - TNT (1x Rod 2) 1x Chris's Pet - Korda Chod Rig 4 - TNT (1x Rod 2) 1x Royal - Chod Rig Size 12 - Bloodworm (1x Rod 1) 1x The Other Linear - Blowback Rig 4 - Active 8 18mm (1x Rod 3) 2x The Pretty One - Korda Chod Rig 4 - TNT (2x Rod 2) 3x The Mint Common - Korda Chod Rig 4/Blowback Rig 4 - TNT/Active 8 18mm (1x Rod 2, 2x Rod 3) 1x Shecks - Chod Rig Size 12 - Double Large Sweetcorn (1x Rod 1) 1x Garthy - Size 12 Braided Hair Rig - Bloodworm (1x Rod 1) Peg 18 I haven't fished this peg a lot to be honest, but I did catch Garthy 20 yards out in the weeds. 1x Garthy - Size 12 Braided Hair Rig - Bloodworm
Wow thank you SPACE ODDITY. That is a lot of very useful and complete information and adding the pictures to show exactly what you are talking about is a big help. I really appreciate your effort with that post and you gave me lots of different things to try. 1 Question though , on your Roach/Tench/Bream rod , do you always use size 12 hooks with the bloodworm ? Or bigger sometimes ? I want to do something similar , specifically for roach and tench boss , but this lake destroyed everything I knew about catching roach and tench.
Yes with my Rods for targeting Tench/Bream/Roach I always use size 12 hooks with bloodworm. I have experimented using bigger hooks like Size 10 & 8, but I found I was getting more small carp then anything else. I am not a fishing man in real life, but once I caught Shecks (Bream 13lbs) using size 12 hooks, who weights more then Greentooth (11lbs), Royal (10lbs), Baker (11lbs) and the two boss roach. I couldn't see why I could not catch the others on size 12 hooks as well. My main logic for staying on size 12 hooks was mainly for me to focus targeting the two boss roach and hope I get some boss Tench & Bream along the way.... so far it has worked as I have caught Shecks & Royal. I record on a notepad everything I catch, size, type of fish etc and try to work out the odds of using this size hook, and that type of Bait. For my Tench/Bream/Roach rod I haven't really experimented that much with different baits as bloodworm has been doing well for me. I am thinking of switching baits to see how it goes, and will post the results of what I am catching with them later/tomorrow. Rod 1 cast area on peg 11 & Rod 3 peg 10 are basically the same spot. Fishing with size 12 in the weeds on bloodworm has been a Tench/Roach heaven for me. I would say on average, every 20 fish I have caught in that area using my set up, only one or two has been a small carp. I have also noticed I have had more success with Tench/Roach when fishing in weeds. I also use this spot to figure how successful my current session may be. If I am not pulling at least one Tench/Roach every 5-10 minutes from start of session, then I normally reload lake. If I am not getting bites on the reload, then I switch to multiplayer etc... Bream on the other hand, I just cant figure out. I have spent 100+ hours on this new lake and I would guess I have only caught 7-10 at most in that time. I suspect bigger hooks like size 10 or 8 will be a must, and change of bait to maybe Double large/medium Sweetcorn.
Went back to Manor Farm yesterday - Fished Peg 10 on short day from mid to late evening. I caught the Pretty One x 1 and unbelievably the unnamed common 4 x in the same sitting and from different casting points in peg 10 (Close in front, left side close, straight out about 35 yards x 2). First for me on any lake getting the same boss so many times in one session!
I have been chasing Boss Bream and Boss Tench for the last week. I have fished nearly every peg looking for those stupid Bream! I have just finished a 4 hour session fishing on Peg 14, and had good results. I just want to point out that before todays session, I have only caught 12 Bream spanning over 150 hours of fishing on Manor Lake. Todays session lasting 4 hours I have caught 15 Bream, 29 Tench and 22 carp on Peg 14. Thankfully I finally caught Greentooth, so I don't have to worry about those darn Bream again! Here is pictures of where I was fishing, but please bare in mind you may not have same success due to luck being a big factor. Peg 14 Rig - Korda KD Rig 8 Bait - Hi-Vis Pop Up 15mm Line - Korda 15 SUBbraid I have caught Bream and Tench on all 3 rod locations shown in pictures below. I caught Royal twice, once on Rod 1 location and once at Rod 2 location. I caught Greentooth at Rod 3's location. I have done a lot fishing with baits and hook size, and in my opinion .... Hi-Vis Pop Up 15mm and size 8 hooks are best for targeting boss Bream and Tench.
Just started a new session and fourth fish caught was Greentooth at Peg 14 on Hi-Vis Pop Up 15mm using Korda KD Rig 8. This time caught Greentooth at Rod 1 location. Spent all week chasing this little bugger, and caught him twice in a space of a couple of hours on same Peg (but separate sessions).
I have just caught Baker on Peg 14 on Hi-Vis Pop Up 15mm using Korda KD Rig 8. I caught him on Rod 2 location, shown in picture in previous post. Yep!, Peg 14, size 8 hook and Hi-Vis Pop Up 15mm is the way to go for chasing Boss Bream & Tench imo. On Peg 14 today I have had Greentooth twice, Royal twice and Baker once. That's all the Boss fish caught apart from 'The Big Ghostie'. I am not sure if The Big Ghostie is broken or not, but I will keep trying.
Could you please check in on MC, Wrighty, and Chunk as well. I noted how it is the exact same scenario for those three fish as it is for Big Ghostie in my other thread.
been fishing space oddity spot caught royal 5 times in about 90 mins of fishing missing baker though lol
What sort of times/conditions etc seem to work the best? - Generally I fish mid/late evening on all waters (6pm - 12am ish) and find it works fairly well for the bigger/boss fish - Same for this lake or doesn't it make too much difference?
I am not sure if it really matters on what time of the day, but I do start fishing at 5pm if I am targeting Bream/Tench.... for carp I normally start at 1pm. For weather I normally keep it on random, but I do like the lake to be static as its easier to see fish activity.
Nice one..... I often wondered how much times/weather/long/short days matter- I think its psychological lots of the time as the light goes that big fish come out to play! But sometimes I think it does make a difference within the game.
I agree with you, I used to start my sessions at 7am and most times I hardly ever catch any Boss fish between 7am-12pm. I think with this game you have to find what suits you. When I first started hunting Boss on this Lake, I was fishing under the willow tree because people were reporting having success at that spot. I fished the spot for 30 hours and hardly had any bites let alone any Boss fish, but that's not to say other people wont have success. I have this little rule that I went by while chasing Boss Carp. In the first hour of my session, if I kept catching 18-24 lbs carp I would reload lake. If I kept catching 27-33 lbs carp, then I would stick with it. I honestly don't know if it really made a difference, but it worked for me lol
It is an interesting question - Maybe I will start another thread to see what the general consensus is for times and if it matters from lake to lake or its just nothing but an aesthetic thing.!
I tried peg 14 last night , caught Baker 3 times but nothing else. I suspect only 1 of those bosses spawn per session. It looks like the one that spawns will spawn multiple times , but in that session the other one won't spawn. I might be wrong but that's just how it's looking to me. I moved to the right to the right hand bottom margin , and even there caught Baker again.
I don't think only 1 of those bosses spawn per session as I have had Baker & Greentooth in one session, and Royal, Krook & Greentooth in the other.
Peg 12, I had the unnamed common four times in one session, all at different point in the swim and different baits/rods - Couldn't seem to not catch it - No other bosses though in the session.
I think its just luck of the draw to be honest. I have had sessions where I have caught 6-10 different boss fish on the same peg, as well as multiple catches of the same boss..... but I have also had sessions where one boss fish, Two Tone in my case.... that will not leave me alone. I also believe that once you catch a certain Boss fish for the first time, it ups your chance of catching him again. I spent over a week chasing The Pretty One, and now I catch him frequently.
On Manor farm I have very little ticked off. Prefer St Johns as an overall water but the boss fish I do have there are a few just caught several times... Had plenty of 30's and Tench very late single figures but very few boss fish...Got put off a bit with all the stories of certain fish not being attainable.
I am still struggling to get through the stock fish on this water to get to the boss fish. Tried a lot of what has been discussed in this thread but still struggling. Plenty of 30's and large tench but hardly nothing named...Catch rate doesn't seem to be an issue, just catching the right ones does. Getting frustrated as I have spent a number of sessions on this water, different tactics, swims etc and only seem to catch the same two boss fish.
The boss fish rate is definitely lower here than other lakes. At first I found it frustrating , but then I started to look at it different that it's actually a good thing. Cos how much fun would it be if you caught all the boss fish in a week ? The lake has a longer "life span" if I can call it that being the way it is. Fortunately the normal's bite rate is very high ( unlike ST Johns that has been nerved into the ground ) so one keeps very busy and have fun while you are going for the bosses. In the end it's about having fun catching fish and shouldn't be just about boss fish. And this lake is one of the best for that with it's great bite rate ( on large hooks and baits anyway , small hooks are dead here ) and big sized non-bosses. As soon as I started looking at it that way I really started to enjoy the lake. If I catch a boss in a session then good , if I don't get one also good as I'm having fun catching loads of big carp. I think we tend to dwell to much on the boss fish all the time and don't enjoy the ride enough.
Think there is a balance to be had definitely and yes the catch rate seems a lot lower in terms of boss's. Interesting you say smaller hooks are dead, I have been trying to use smaller hooks with smaller baits to tap into the smaller boss fish (Bream and Roach) bar a few okish roach of late 2lb size, had nothing back the odd small carp. Large boss Bream are my nemesis, had very few across all the waters. Seems big hooks and big baits work better on here, tench included as I have plenty of late single figure fish on Tiger nuts presented on a size 4 hook. I think this water would be the best if it did include some of the larger St Johns catfish - I assume it doesn't because it is based on a real water and it simply doesn't have them.
still on the hunt for baker caught royal greentooth and shecks all over the lake while doing this though
We're gonna need one of these for Le Lac D'Or as well. There the boss fish catch rate is even worse than Manor
Any good spots on St Johns? I spent many hours on that lake, and still have yet to catch a single boss.
Swims 1, 2, 3, 8, 28,29, 30, 31 - All had plenty of boss fish from. I find short range fishing works the best, margins especially in in 8 and 29. Usual big baits (Tiger nuts and dumbells works well) and big hooks for the carp and cats. 1, 2 & 31 see, the best for boss cats I find. Good luck!
Did you catch baker eventually Been trying to catch him last few days had royal just can’t catch baker
Can anyone confirm any boss roach hotspots... Still struggling to pull any roach let alone boss roach
I caught baker multiple times from peg 14 on size 8 and 15mm hi Vis pop up as suggested early in thread by space oddity
yeah high vis pop up was the bait for manor farm caught almost all my bosses on it though with new baits i think the 14mm hex i think it is would be good
Finally caught The Big Ghostie. I was fishing Peg 7, I under arm cast 3 yards out all 3 rods. Caught her on TANE 18mm using Korda IQ-D Rig 4.
