A real hardcore and awesome core feature of this train sim is doing up the coupling one by one. So right now you manually couple the locomotive to another or a wagon but its automated still. In real life you must attend each hose individually, release the air pressure valves or close them, chain it up to the other object. This would of course apply to all the old systems of coupling, i understand TSW features modern trains which you simply drive in and self coupling occurs, however there are many locomotive and wagons which still need all hands on deck even the modern trains, you still have to connect the hoses by hand and open up the valves. That's going to really put hair on your chest for sure. I'd love for this to become a reality in tsw, wouldn't you as well?

I can only speak for the NA equipment, but I would love some more realism in the coupling/uncoupling procedure.
Hoses have to be hooked up and the air lines opened. When uncoupling, the lines must be closed, and when the train pulls away from the dropped cars, the hoses are either manually unhooked, or ripped apart, resulting in a loud burst of noise.
Start watching at 0:54. Notice how the hoses stretch, and then pull apart. The air burst even causes snow to fly.

Are you speaking for TSW2 or a Train Simulator updated core? This is the Train Simulator forum.

That would indeed be a nice feature that adds realism. It would also be nice to be able to couple and uncouple MU, to shorten or lengthen trains :)

More complex coupling simulation would be awesome! Even the solution proposed in EU07 Maszyna project is better for me.

I'd make it optional though, not everyone wants to wrestle with hoses.

I agree that it should be optional

It might be an interesting thing but I feel like the vast, vast majority would never actually use the feature. It's just an extra inconvenience. Sure, it would be a cool thing but I imagine the investment of time and money into such a thing might not be worth the fraction of the player base that actually uses it.

The same goes for things such as collectibles, and they are still there, so maybe.... :)

It is quite good fun in Derail Valley, though you might need a variation on their remote control to help with the shunting.
The only snag I see is that would probably have limited application in TSW2 as it stands, where the majority of movements are A to B "block" moves or on many routes multiple units/push pull formations. On NTP, the loco hauled moves finish at Leeds or Manchester then move off stage as it were for disposal (I don't think they run round in the virtual fiddle yard, they just despawn).
