The Oxted Line

The Oxted line runs from London Victoria or London Bridge
via Clapham Junction East Croydon, South Croydon Sanderstead, Riddlesdown ,Upper Warlingham,
Woldingham , Oxted, Hurst Green the line has 2 branches the East Grinstead branch goes via
Lingfield,Doormans & East Grinstead
the Uckfield branch runs via Edenbridge Town, Heaver, Cownden Ashurst Eridge, Crowbourgh, Buxted, &
Uckfield the trains are class 171 & 377 &700 the line has 4 tunnels Mark Beech Tunnel ,Edenbridge Tunnel
Limpsfield Tunnel, Oxted Tunnel,Riddlesdown Tunnel and the bridges on the route
Oxted Viaduct Woldingham Viaduct Riddlesdown Viaduct

 

I would go for that!

Then I would backdate it.

 

Caterham and Tatty Corner branches would also be a good addition, I think they come off at Purley, a short distance south of South Croydon

 

DTG could put the Tattenham Corner & Caterham branches

 

in the day Southern rail GTR

Well, they've got the London termini in question down to Croydon done on other routes, so venturing off the mainline would certainly interest me greatly.

Which era would you be backdating to if it ever came to fruition? Sounds intriguing

 

1950s early 60s when steam operated those lines. I backdated the North Downs, Guildford-Redhill line to that era as my lock down project.

 

this Idea would make an investment because of the damage by COVID-19
