When you pause the game you get "normally" the date of today, but Im getting lately a lot of times older dates like this:
Yes. It appears to be working how it should now. It’s the date the run you are doing is set on. Nobody really needs their train simulator to tell them today’s date. The window is for information about the service and therefore the date is part of that.

This would fall under the “working as intended” category. The date is for the service you’re running, so if you do a summer run, it’s gonna show a summer date. The year is based on the specific route’s time frame.
